'RHONJ' Star Melissa Gorga Talks Joe Gorga Marriage, Teases Season 11 Drama

Melissa Gorga and husband Joe Gorga faced marital drama throughout filming on the upcoming 11th season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and during an interview with Us Weekly magazine on February 11, Melissa opened up about the issues they endured.

“This season, it’s very raw. It’s very real. It’s very different this season for Joe and I,” she teased.

Season 11 of "RHONJ" was filmed in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. And, understandably, new challenges were presented to the cast.

“We’ve done very good for 11 years. We’re a great couple. We try really hard. We fight really hard for our family and it’s not easy to be on reality TV for 11 years and still stand strong,” Melissa continued. 

According to Melissa, she and Joe were faced with opposing life views during "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" season 11 as she focused on growth.

“He likes things to stay the same. I’ve been with him since I was 24 years old. So I’ve changed and I feel like this is a scary part of marriage. Either you’re going to grow together or you’re going to grow apart. And I think we’re fighting really hard to grow together,” she shared.

While Melissa and Joe have no current plans to call it quits on their marriage, Melissa acknowledged that they weren't in the best of places during production in 2020 before noting that fans will soon see exactly what they went through on the show.

“It’s not easy. We’re struggling. I’m not sitting here telling you that, like, I’m moving out of my house today but we were struggling and we show it. … We’re fighting out of it.”

“It just takes a little give and take.”

As fans of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" may have heard, Melissa wasn't the only cast member who's marriage was spotlighted during season 11. In fact, all of the relationships of the cast seemed to take a hit during the new episodes, including Jackie Goldschneider's marriage to husband Evan.

During her own interview with Us Weekly, Jackie admitted to considering quitting the Bravo reality series while seemingly reacting to the allegations of cheating that Evan was faced with during filming.

“I mean, my family and my marriage is beautiful and it’s wonderful and it’s built on a lot of respect and love and nothing is going to get in the way of that. So, I had to really see if there was a way for the show to be a part of my life and still maintain the integrity of my family and my relationship,” Jackie explained. “And you’ll see us figure that out.”
