The "Real Housewives of Orange County" alum, 38, explained that she's been wearing glasses for many years and was ready to ditch them for good.

"Yep that’s me I did a thing. After having a tumultuous co-dependent relationship with my glasses since 1998 I finally decided to lay down some boundaries and tell them 'no more!,'" she began her caption on Instagram. "It wasn’t easy to part with my newish Prada frames that also accommodated for my former astigmatism, bifocals, and even transition lenses, but alas they are no longer needed."

Her caption continued by thanking her friends for holding her hand and being there for her during the procedure, and concluded with how she's feeling afterwards. "My one eyeball burns when I put the drop in and arghougugugu it makes me so squeamish I need a minute to collect myself. But gosh I can see! It’s trippy, like a trick I’m waiting for the disappointing punchline to appear. But so far no punchline, I’ll keep you posted. Goodnight, my eyeball is tired."

Many of King's Instagram followers had questions, and King took some time to answer some of them.

One follower wanted to know why she only had one eye done. King responded, "My other eye isn’t terrible for distance and it’s perfect up close so I have one for seeing far and one for seeing near."

Another person wanted to know if she was awake for the procedure, to which King simply replied, "oh yes."

Then there were others who dropped into the comments with their thoughts or own experiences with the procedure. Some love the thought of having it done, while others said it's not worth the risks.

"LASIK is amazing, but sadly wears off with time. And when 40 comes around, welcome to readers. BUT, still worth it while it lasts," one follower wrote.

Another added, "I have had glasses since 4th grade. Two years ago I went through screening for lasik. I was a candidate to my surprise. I was 43. The reason I declined? It ruins your near vision. No glasses, I can see so wonderfully 12 inches in front of me. Better than any reading glasses. No dice. I got progressive contacts and life changer day to day. Then evenings I can read and pluck hairs with precision. Good luck with your aging eyes. You will need readers!"

Another follower, who had the procedure done years ago, chimed in. "I had it done over 10 years ago, and while it was good while it lasted- I would NOT do it again. Not only do I have to wear glasses again- but they never tell you that a MAJOR SIDE EFFECT is DRY EYES. Now, as a permanent effect, I have dry eyes beyond belief. Wasn’t worth it for the rest of my life to deal with this."

Last summer, King had a few cosmetic procedures done - rhinoplasty and breast implant exchange. She updated her followers on her healing progress two months post-op with a carousel of photos.

"I feel completely healed and cleared to do all my favorite activities (like yoga, running, and lifting weights… I can even swim again!). Dr Niccole gave me better results than I could’ve imagined: my nose still looks like me but better, and my breasts are full again post childbirth and nursing. I also added Sculptra (creates natural collagen to keep my face full as I age) and Botox (to keep wrinkles at bay while lifting my brows)," she wrote in the caption.

She concluded her caption by saying while none of these procedures feel great, the results are worth it, and that she loves sharing her journey with her followers.

Comments were a mixed bag of positive and negative thoughts, with many warning King about breast implants and the health dangers they can sometimes come with. And others thanked her for normalizing cosmetic surgeries and talking about it.
