"Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans. Since Ace is a 12-year-old child with a long life ahead of him - we will let him tell his own story someday if he chooses," Heather stated. She added, "All we can say is, Ace, we love you so much, and we are proud to be your parents. Your brother and sisters love and support you too."

The Dubrow family has shown support for their child, and Heather's post serves as a message of love and acceptance for Ace.

The Dubrows Support And Encourage Their Children

During an interview with People magazine in February 2022, Heather shared that her daughter Max had come out as bi a year earlier, and her second daughter Kat had also come out as lesbian.

As the proud mother of four children, Heather acknowledged that her kids are in the process of discovering themselves and figuring out their place in the world as individuals.

Commenting on Ace's personality at the time, Terry stated that the pre-teen has always been determined and is a "very complex, layered person." Terry also mentioned that Ace is "going through a lot of self-exploration" and discovering themselves.

On the other hand, Heather expressed her displeasure with labels placed on Ace due to their choice of clothing. As she pointed out, she believes that clothing should not be subject to labels and should simply be viewed as clothing.

"Everyone always looked at [Ace] because [Ace] dresses 'like a boy,' which, I hate those kinds of labels. It's clothing. Clothing should just be clothing at this point," she said.

'What Does It Matter What We're Wearing?'

Despite these hurdles, the Dubrow parents remain supportive of Ace and are committed to creating a safe and loving environment for their child's self-discovery journey.

While citing an example, the "bravolebrity" expressed her admiration for actor Billy Porter, who rocked a stunning gown on the runway. She said that she believes that fashion choices should not be a point of contention and that everyone should have the freedom to dress as they like.

"Billy Porter wears a gorgeous gown down the runway. He looks phenomenal. What does it matter what we're wearing?" she stated Per People, calling Ace a "very cool kid."

When discussing their return to "Real Housewives of Orange County" last season, the Dubrow couple said they wanted to use their extensive platform to share their family's story and promote positive change.

Heather explained that they saw an opportunity to spark meaningful conversations in other families, while Terry emphasized the importance of discussing sexuality openly and honestly.

As a renowned plastic surgeon and star of "Botched," Terry recognizes that coming out with one's sexuality is a significant event that broadly affects a lot of different people. "We just want people to realize it should be part of normal conversations," he said at the time.
