Britney Spears is staying silent on the bombshell documentary “Framing Britney Spears” set to premiere tonight.
The pop star has stayed off of social media today. The New York Times/FX film, which features interviews from former members of Britney’s inner circle, is set to cause controversy as it looks at the singer’s conservatorship.
Britney and her camp have been silent about the movie which features sit-down discussions with people who spent a lot of time with the “Womanizer” singer before, during, and after her public meltdown.
One of the people who spoke to producers was Britney’s former assistant/confidante, Felicia Culotta. Many diehard fans are familiar with Felicia because she was constantly photographed with Britney in the early 2000’s. The two grew up together and Felicia was brought on to be apart of the team. They always seemed to have a close sister-like relationship.
In a preview, Felicia explained, “You know I don’t know that I ever really had any definition on what I was supposed to do with Britney. For a long time they called me her chaperone, And then at one point they wanted to call me her partner, and we didn’t think that sounded right. I definitely was not her mother and I wasn’t her big sister, so we settled on “assistant”.”
The two eventually parted ways when Britney was dealing with her life issues. She came back to work with Britney during her Las Vegas residency.
In regards to the conservatorship, Felicia said she never understood what it was or why Britney needed to be in one.

Another person who sat for an interview was Britney’s former lawyer, Adam Streisand. He was hired by Britney after she was hospitalized but before she was placed into the conservatorship permanently. Adam claims he went into court to represent the singer but the judge refused to allow him. He says the judge reviewed Britney’s medical records and decided to make his determination on that.
He told producers the judge never told him what was in the medical file or why he was not allowed to represent Britney.
Adam has said Britney never appeared crazy, “just agitated. She understood the concept of a conservatorship but did not want her father to be the conservator.”
As The Blast previously reported, Britney’s dad Jamie is still fighting to keep control in the singer’s conservatorship. Brit hasn’t had control of her life or finances in over a decade. She has repeatedly told the court she doesn’t want her father to have any power.
Jamie, who gets paid a salary from Britney’s estate, is doing everything to not be cut out. He argued Britney’s finances are in better shape than ever with his help. A judge denied Britney’s first motion on the matter but it still letting her present further argument.
A final decision has yet to be made.
