Cyrus collaborating with Disney is exciting news because it's been almost two decades since she left the famous studio. The "Angels Like You" singer first rose to fame while playing the role of Hannah Montana on the same-titled show.

In the beloved show, Hannah was a teenage pop star who lived a double life as that of an average girl named Miley Stewart. The sitcom aired on Disney from 2006 until 2011 and was so successful it spawned multiple hit songs and albums, concerts and tours, and even a feature film.

However, Cyrus eventually left the show, striking out on her own to release hits like "Party in the USA," "Can't Be Tamed," "We Can't Stop," and "Wrecking Ball." After leaving Disney, however, the former child star has featured in only a few films, like "The Last Song" and "LOL."

The 30-year-old singer wrote, "We had an equal exchange in which you provided a superlative amount of fame in return for the anonymity I could gift to you. But a lot has changed since then. You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon + never brought me back down. … You + I have been through it all together my friend."

The singer wrapped up the message by saying Hannah will always have her "love and utmost gratitude." Miley Cyrus also said she's forever indebted to the character and everyone who supported and believed in her dreams.
