Singer Britney Spears is doing some reflecting on the music industry as a whole.

On Thursday afternoon, the 41-year-old pop star shared an Instagram post that included a live performance of her hit song, "Toxic." Looking back, she called the performance her "favorite" and the one that took "the least effort."

In her latest Instagram post, Britney shared footage from a live performance of the song “Toxic” from early on in her career, giving credit to ABC Network for the clip.

"I was in the music industry for over half of my life !!! I was told by someone who directed movies that the music industry is a different beast … especially touring !!!" Britney explained. "It’s fun at first but if you’ve done it for a while, being in a different city constantly gets pretty draining !!! I have done like 10 tours !!!"

"Well … as I looked back at my career and I realized the one thing I did that required the least effort … like at all … was my favorite thing I have ever done !!!" she revealed. "3 days of rehearsal, 1 day of dress rehearsal and performing just 5 songs, shot to a T on a TV set !!!"

"It took 45 minutes to shoot … I remember afterwards being like, 'wow that was easy, can we do it again ???' The lighting, everything was brilliant !!!" she added. "WAYYY different than hauling 4 trucks and 300 people on a tour where I couldn’t even have coffee ☕️ !!!!"

On tour I can’t remember how many women were on the bus with my dad 🙄🙄🙄 …"

"Either way, I would say they got a great deal wasting 15 years of my life !!! Great news though !!! Having this new found independence gives me strength every day and the ability to stay hungry, focused, fearless, and honestly just be a good person !!!" she concluded. "Here’s to the magic of TV 📺 … Who would have thunk it 😒😒😒 ???"

Britney's highly controversial conservatorship started in February 2008 and was struck down by a judge in November 2021. Since that time, she has not been shy about discussing her conservatorship or her feelings about her parents.

In a since-deleted Instagram post from September 2022, Britney revealed that she had to go through several MRI scans during her conservatorship. She said she was “confused” as to why she needed them and concluded that her family was just being “mean” to her.

"I really felt like my dad was trying to kill me and I hope he burns in f---ing h---,” she told her followers at the time. In the caption, Britney wrote, "Sorry I will never forget because of the pain and the difference in being out of my head clear moving my feet … its only been 10 months since the conservatorship has ended … I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone !!!"

"It’s extremely hard for me to accept the fact that my family did that to me … it will be hard for me for the rest of my life 😔 … as for my Mom and Dad who sat back and hid coffee from me at the house to wake me up from feeling dead and scared like an old lady … and threw me away … I will say it loud and proud … I pray you both burn in h---.”

Only one month before, her mother Lynn Spears took to Instagram to share a photo of her alongside her daughter.

"Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes! And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships!" she wrote in the caption. "I have never and will never turn my back on you!"

"Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything," she continued. "I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only , eye to eye, in private. ❤️🙏."
