Soap Actor Scott Clifton Shares Fans Dislike For His Character

Soap opera fans are very passionate when it comes to their shows.

They aren't shy about sharing their opinions on storylines and their dislike for certain characters.

When it comes to "The Bold and the Beautiful," fans have been in an uproar for years over one character in particular.

Liam Spencer is one of the leading males on the show. Although he's often pushed to the forefront in storylines, fans have grown to dislike him.

Even Liam's portrayer Scott Clifton agrees with the fans' assessment of his character.

Clifton has become well-known in the soap opera world, having spend over a decade in daytime television.

In 2003, at the age of 19, he was cast as Dillon Quartermaine on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital." 

Throughout his four years on the show, he'd earn three Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor.

Following his departure from "General Hospital," he went on to join another ABC soap "One Life to Live," but his time on the series would be brief.

In 2010, his biggest soap role came when he was cast as Liam Spencer on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Thanks to his role as Liam, Clifton gained popularity and won three Daytime Emmy awards.

Although Clifton puts on amazing performances, in recent years, his character has earned a lot of hatred from B&B fans.

Liam is the son of publishing tycoon Bill Spencer, and a member of one of B&B's prominent families.

Although Liam may be smart when it comes to business, he's dumb when it comes to his personal life.

As B&B fans have witnessed over the past decade, Liam has been stuck in a never-ending love triangle with Hope Logan and Steffy Forrester.

Viewers have become tired of the storyline, which continues on due to Liam's waffling.

Liam is always going back and forth between Hope and Steffy. He's been married and divorced to both women, and shares children with them.

Just when it looks like he's finally settled down with one woman, trouble ensues that sends him running to his other ex.

Liam's inability to make up his mind has riled up B&B fans.

Thanks to social media, soap fans have an outlet to express their opinion.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" fans aren't shy about expressing their dislike for Liam, and many have even tweeted Scott Clifton about his character.

Although most actors would defend their character and their actions, Clifton has the opposite approach.

The actor understands the fans' feelings towards Liam, even he has questioned his character's actions in the past.

Clifton even surprised fans with one of his recent tweets that says, "I want to choke Liam."

So it seems fans aren't the only ones having issues with the character.

If "The Bold and the Beautiful" writers want to make Liam into a bad guy, they're doing a good job of it.

The current storyline involving Liam has angered fans, who are now wishing the character would be written off the show.

Liam has found himself once again restarting the triangle with Hope and Steffy. 

Although, Liam is married to Hope, he had a drunken one-night stand with Steffy. To make things more complicated, Steffy's pregnant, but doesn't know if Liam or her current beau Finn is the father.

The paternity storyline already has viewers dreading the outcome, which will be Liam once again waffling between Hope and Steffy.
