Mod Sun Speaks Out After SHOCKING Breakup With Singer Avril Lavigne: 'I'll Keep My Head Up'

After a surprising breakup with pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne, singer and rapper Mod Sun has finally broken his silence. A week ago, it was confirmed that Lavigne had called off their engagement and relationship altogether for reasons yet to be known. 

The former couple had made headlines when it was announced that they had gotten engaged in Paris and were set to walk down the aisle. Mod Sun also recently spoke highly of his ex, saying she changed his life.

In his latest Instagram post, the "Karma" singer talks about how he would "always listen to my heart" and "keep my head up."

Mod Sun recently took to his Instagram page to give an update on how he's been fairing following his split with his ex, Lavigne. Although the singer didn't state what happened between them that may have caused the breakup, he revealed that he was doing fine, although his heart "feels broken."

He said, "In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there's a plan for it all. I'll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken." The singer continued, "Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage."

A series of photos accompanied Mod Sun's message. The first shot showed the musician taking a mirror selfie, while others showed him performing to a crowd of fans and playing the keyboard. Overall, he looked like he was in a good place, surrounded by love and great energy.

Fans were quick to show their support for the heartbroken singer, with some even going as far as calling out Lavigne for dumping him, saying, "Karma is real."

One empathetic fan said, "Not going to lie, I cried so much when I heard you and Avril called off your engagement. Like ugly cried."

Another talked about how delicate the singer's heart was as a Minnesotan, stating, "People switch up way too fast. Minnesota hearts aren't designed for that chaos."

While some chose to focus on supporting the singer, others took the chance to call out Lavigne.

One of Mod Sun's followers wrote, "You've faced bigger challenges in life and you always came out on top! She lost the best thing to ever happen to her and karma is real. You deserve better and I'm glad you will have a chance to find someone worthy of you king."

On the 21st of February, it was confirmed that Lavigne had called off her engagement to Mod Sun and called it quits on their relationship nearly a year after he proposed to her in Paris.

TMZ reported at the time that the former couple had been trying to make things work but just couldn't and needed to take a break from each other. A source for the news outlet also claimed that there was no cheating involved. 

Despite claims that neither party cheated on the other, Lavigne was spotted hanging out with rapper Tyga at the popular NOBU restaurant right before she called off her engagement to Mod Sun. The pair looked comfortable with each other and even shared an intimate hug before going their separate ways.

Although Tyga and Lavigne are known to be friends, their meeting at that moment has raised some eyebrows.

Shortly before Lavigne called off their engagement, Mod Sun, in an interview with E! News, gushed about his now former fiancée and how she changed his life and saved him. The singer credited Lavigne for making him no longer feel like a "child" and also helping him mature.

He said at the time, "I have found such a partner in this world to go through the chaos that life gives you. I have found that person. I'm with a real grown woman who has gone through it all ten times over and she makes me a better person."

Mod Sun also spoke on how Lavigne saved him from "the idea of self-destruction" and rid him of his "self-sabotage" button. He revealed that he planned on giving her a beautiful and memorable wedding. 

The "Girlfriend" singer is yet to release an official statement since she called off their engagement.
