NBA star Malik Beasley‘s baby mama Montana Yao accused him of not supporting their son following their split, a claim he denies.
Malik and Montana are in the middle of a nasty divorce. She filed the case after paparazzi photos were published showing the Minnesota Timberwolves star on a date with Larsa Pippen. She said she was shocked to find out Malik was with another woman. He claims she knew they were already headed towards divorce. She calls that claim a lie.
Malik’s lawyer, Steven A. Haney, released a statement to Hollywood Life after Montana posted. It read, “Montana Yao’s assertion that Malik Beasley has made no effort of seeing Makai is categorically untrue.”
He added, “In fact, it is an outright lie. Malik has taken every effort possible to seek visitation which has not only been denied but met with outrageous financial demands by a woman who was married to an NBA player for eight months. Montana Yao’s motives are clear and have nothing to do with the best interests of her son.”
Earlier this week, Larsa posted a video of her working out with Malik in a hotel room. The two are still going strong despite many finding the relationship tacky. Larsa claims he told her his marriage was over before she got with him.
After the little video was posted, Malik posted a photo of him holding his son who he shares with Montana. The post didn’t sit well with Montana who tore into her ex writing on Instagram, “Not posting a kid u haven’t even tried to see or support …”
Back in December, Montana filed for divorce from Malik after being married for a couple of months.
According to court records obtained by The Blast, The NBA star filed his own divorce petition against his estranged wife on January 11. He is asking the court to dismiss her case and allow him to move forward.
The two are still legally married and have yet to finalize any settlement. It’s unclear if they had a prenuptial agreement prior to getting hitched.
