Following some scathing new remarks by Ballerini, Evans recently took to Instagram to criticize her for not being honest about their divorce. The singer even revealed during a podcast appearance that she and Evans fought so much that she had to sleep on the couch.

Kelsea Ballerini Allegedly Cheated On Morgan Evans With Drew Taggart
According to Page Six, an insider has revealed that Ballerini cheated on her ex-husband, Evans, with one-half of the Chainsmokers. The insider claims that the country-pop singer cheated with Drew Taggart in 2019 while at Lollapalooza.
At the time, Ballerini and Taggart were still working on their hit collaboration, "This Feeling." However, she didn't confess the affair to Evans until late 2021, which was a major factor in their problems.
Another source in Taggart's team confirmed to the news outlet that he wasn't in any relationship at the time of the affair with Ballerini. The 33-year-old DJ has recently been linked to Selena Gomez, while Ballerini has been at the center of relationship rumors with "Outer Banks" star Chase Stokes.
Kelsea Ballerini Filed For Divorce Last Year
The problems between Ballerini and Evans eventually grew so much that the "Miss Me More" singer finally filed for divorce in August 2022. Page Six obtained the court documents she filed, which revealed that Ballerini cited "irreconcilable differences" in the reasons for their split.
Ballerini later publicly addressed and confirmed the rumors that she and Evans had ended their marriage. She released a statement calling the divorce a "deeply difficult decision" that she'd made after taking a "journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end."
Evans also released a statement shortly after Ballerini, re-confirming their split to fans, but his message was short and direct. He wrote, "I am very sad to confirm that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise, but sadly it is not."
Morgan Evans Criticized His Ex-Wife On Instagram
Ballerini recently appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she spoke about her marriage and divorce. Just before the episode was released, Evans took to Instagram to criticize his ex-wife for what she said about their marriage in the teaser clip for the interview.
The "Over for You" singer wrote, "It's really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't reality and that leave out what really happened. She knows I'm not the type of guy to speak on those things publicly."
Evans further stated that if Ballerini needs to disparage him and their divorce to heal, then he hopes it helps her. He concluded the message with, "All I ask is that if you're on my pages, please don't be mean. Don't be mean to Kelsea, don't be mean to each other. Life's too short."
Kelsea Ballerini Shared The Events Leading To Their Split
While appearing on Call Her Daddy, Ballerini shared details of the "nasty" divorce, revealing that she and Evans had been fighting as far back as 2019. The "Penthouse" singer said that right before the CMA Awards that year, which was weeks after her alleged affair with Taggart, she and Evans had a huge fight.
She said, "There was, like, many nights of sleeping on the couch. I slept on the couch the night before the CMAs, and I remember I went to rehearsal at the arena and texting him, and him being like, 'I'll see you at the carpet.'" Ballerini also criticized Evans for his new song on their breakup, "Over for You," in which he called his ex an "opportunistic" person.
However, she also recently dropped an EP on their marriage and divorce, titled "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat." In criticizing Evans, Ballerini said per Page Six, "His healing journey is his healing journey. I respect that, but publicly exploiting that feels a little nasty to me before it's final."
