Heather Dubrow opened up about cancel culture and spoke about her former "Real Housewives of Orange County" co-star, Kelly Dodd, during an interview withUs Weekly magazine days ago.
As viewers of the Bravo reality series continue to call for Kelly's removal from the series, mainly because of her careless comments about COVID-19 and her offensive "Drunk Wives Matter" hat, Heather admitted that cancel culture can be complicated.
“Cancel culture is such a tricky thing because when there’s gray area it’s hard ’cause [it] can ruin people’s lives and careers and whatnot," Heather explained.
Heather Dubrow Hopes People Can Grow From Their Mistakes
"Having said that, and having not seen exactly what was said, I’ll tell you this: a leopard doesn’t change its spots, right?,” Heather continued. ” People show you who they are. And at some point, you have to listen.”
“Hopefully, people do grow and evolve but after years and years of a pattern, I think sometimes you get to the point where you go, ‘Yeah, that’s the path you’re on. That’s not changing,'” she added.
While Kelly has apologized for the things she said about COVID-19, and for her offensive hat, Heather doesn't seem to sure that she's changed and who can blame her?
Heather Dubrow And Kelly Dodd Have Been Feuding For Years
As fans of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" well know, Heather and Kelly butted heads throughout their years together on the show and in 2018, Kelly rebooted their feud when she secretly filmed Heather at a gym.
“Heather Dubrow has been sitting there, I’m trying to avoid her at all costs,” Kelly said during her clip, which was shared on Instagram. “Trying to get in my workout and she won’t leave the area. Stop talking! I need to get my workout in and I don’t wanna run into you.”
Heather Dubrow Is Never Saying Never When It Comes To A 'RHOC' Return
Following the bizarre taping, Heather was asked about a potential return to "The Real Housewives of Orange County" cast during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Well, I always say ‘never say never,’ because, you know, if in two years I was back on the show, I don’t want to be like, ‘Well, they’re going in a different direction and I really like the way it’s going,'” she revealed in the 2018 interview. “You never know what life is gonna bring you, but I feel like I’m in a good spot [off the show].”
Heather Dubrow Is Not A 'RHOC' Viewer
During the same interview, Heather confirmed that she would consider returning to the show if Kelly was no longer featured.
In July 2020, while appearing on Us Weekly's podcast, “Getting Real With the Real Housewives,” Heather admitted that she hasn't watched "The Real Housewives of Orange County" since she left.
“I didn’t watch before, and I haven’t watched since I’ve left. I keep up with a bunch of the girls, I’ve run into some of them, but not the day-to-day,” she said.
