Evan Peters Was Set To Play THIS Character On 'The White Lotus'

HBO's comedy-drama series "The White Lotus" became an instant phenomenon. The show is already renewed for a third season, though a release date nor location as been revealed -- however, rumors have been circulating that the upcoming season would be set in Asia.

Although fans are looking forward to a third season, many viewers are still trying to wrap their heads around season two and everything that went down. And even though the season has ended, "The White Lotus" fans are still becoming shocked as executive producer David Bernad just revealed that Evan Peters almost starred in the second season.

"The White Lotus" executive producer David Bernad recently revealed shocking news to fans of the show, admitting that Ethan, who was played by Will Sharpe, was almost portrayed by "American Horror Story" actor Evan Peters.

“That part was the last part we cast in the season, and originally it was supposed to be Evan Peters, but for whatever reason – scheduling or timing – it didn’t work out," Bernad told Deadline.

In season two of the HBO show, Ethan Spiller (Will Sharpe) goes on vacation with his wife Harper (Audrey Plaza), former college roommate Cameron Sullivan (Theo James) and his wife Daphne (Meghan Fahy). The vacation quickly turns into a nightmare as unexpected events take place and underlying resentment pours out.

When speaking on Ethan's character, Bernad added, “We were really trying to figure out how to cast that part so it didn’t feel like familiar casting. We were in Rome auditioning Italian actors, and I was jetlagged Googling at 4 am and I came across Will Sharpe in 'Giri/Haji', which is a brilliant show in the UK. I’d never seen him before and he was just incredibly talented. I looked at his other work and realized he was kind of a chameleon.”

Prior to season three being announced, creator Mike White spoke out on the possibility of another season, explaining to Deadline, “We just turned in our last episode to the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race, but if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”

Since then, season three has been confirmed and speculation has begun that one of the places White mentioned last year will, in fact, be the location of the next season.

The speculation comes after "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville seemingly spilled the beans. “Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together,” he said in an interview with Vulture. “I think that’s where the next . . . Oh, I’m not giving anything away.”

At this time, there has been no release date for season three of 'The White Lotus," nor has any show producer, writer, director, or executive confirmed the location for the upcoming season. Both seasons one and two are currently streaming on HBO Max.
