Courtney Love is thrilled by the latest milestone reached by Nirvana!

Love, who was married to the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain from 1992 until his death two years later, has had a largely complicated relationship with the legacy of her late husband's band, affected by lawsuits and a once fraught relationship with Cobain's Nirvana bandmate, Dave Grohl. Cobain would die by suicide in March of 1994.

The "Doll Parts" singer had nothing but praise for the recording academy on Tuesday, taking to Instagram to thank the institution for awarding Cobain's band with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Earlier this month, the surviving members of Nirvana were among the winners to take home the Lifetime Achievement award during the Special Merit Award ceremony that proceeded the Grammy Awards.

Nirvana Are Among The Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients By The Recording Academy

Original surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would accept the award during the February 5th ceremony. Rhythm guitarist Pat Smear was also in tow.

Novoselic would accept the award. According to Rolling Stone, the Nirvana bassist would do the honors by accepting the award while Grohl and Smear looked on.

"There's a whole new generation of Nirvana fans," Novoselic said in his speech, "and I'm just very grateful for that. Thank you all, so just keep on rocking," he continued.

Novoselic would notably give his thanks to Love, as Love's relationship with the surviving members of Nirvana has historically been complicated.

Love Puts Any Thought Of Past Animosity Aside As She Gives The Recording Academy A Shout Out

Love, who has now finished writing her memoir, took to Instagram to send her love to the Recording Academy and Johnathan Daniel of the Crush Music management company.

In a two-slided Instagram post depicting Nirvana's famous smiley face logo, Love writes in the caption, "The most fun I've ever had with ad copy! Weee! Words are fun! And here's me in 1992 telling Kurt 'That font's so butch' & 'C'mon who would want to look like a bumble bee [bee emoji]"

"We took an ad out in the middle of the Grammy program," she continued. "So everyone would have to notice! [dinosaur emojis]"

The post's copy reads, "The Cobain family & estate would like to thank Jonathan Daniel and Crush Music for their support, loyalty, and heroic efforts for Kurt and Nirvana. The Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award to Nirvana is a monumental milestone. Without Crush Music's tireless work, wisdom, stoicism- and creation of a new ethical culture of management for artists, whose values align so much with Kurt's- this would not be possible," the post continues.

Love concludes her post by further expressing her gratitude to Crush Music.

The post also includes a line from the 1993 Nirvana track "Pennyroyal Tea" from their third album "In Utero,": "Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old."

Love's memoir reportedly spends less time focusing on her relationship with Cobain, but instead her inherited wealth, according to our piece on everything to know the "Celebrity Skin" singer's memoir.

Love's memoir will be distributed by Harper Collins publishing. An exact release date hasn't been revealed, as a paper shortage has put it on hold.
