In the filing, Christina claims to have recorded evidence of the abuse, including photos of her injuries, and an audiotape of one violent incident.
"On the recording, James can be heard terrorizing Christina, spitting and screaming at her, admitting to violence, following her from room to room, chasing her, and then violently assaulting her before the recording abruptly terminates with her crying that she’s calling the police," the document states. Adding, "Shockingly, this recording also captures Christina attempting to usher the minor child – who is present – away from the escalating scene."
The actress also claims she was the victim of a steady stream of verbal abuse, including being called a "motherf--ker, dumb motherf--ker, and stupid fu--king idiot."

As we reported, James filed his own restraining order claiming Ricci is the violent one, who is fueled by alcohol and substance abuse.
Christina Ricci pointed out the size difference of the couple, to send a clear message about who is the aggressor. "Christina – who is 5'1" and weighs approximately 105 pounds – premised her request upon significant evidence of severe physical and emotional abuse by James – who is 6'2' and weighs significantly more than Christina," she wrote.
In the filing, Ricci outlined several violent events, starting in December of 2019, where she claims he 'grabbed' her and "slammed a door on her body." During the incident, she alleges he "forcefully pulled her within inches of his face while screaming and spitting at her. He continued gripping her wrists while making pig noises at her."
There's More...
The actress outlines two separate instances in June of 2020, starting with June 2 -- where the documents claim -- "James chased Christina through and out of the house, in an attempt to take her phone away from her because she was trying to call 911. James grabbed Christina’s wrists and hands, and dragged her, and slammed her body into the fire pit in the yard. Christina suffered cuts, bruising, and soreness in her hip, which still causes her pain today."
The documents claim on June 25, 2020, "James followed Christina around the house all morning screaming at her, spitting on her, throwing coffee at her, and throwing a chair at her, all while the parties’ son was in the living room."

It continued, "James chased Christina up the stairs, followed her into the master bedroom, and tried to take her phone away from her by grabbing at her hands. Christina screamed and tried to run out of the room, and as she was exiting, James slammed the door on half of her body in an attempt to trap her in the bedroom. In doing so, the door injured Christina’s arm, chest, and the side of her head. Christina managed to squeeze out of the door as James was literally pushing the door against her body to keep her from getting out. Christina then ran down the stairs with James chasing her, ran out the front door, and called 911."
The estranged couple is now in the hands of an L.A. County judge.
