D’Andra Simmons doesn’t wing it when it comes to shooting scenes with her cast mates for “The Real Housewives of Dallas.” In fact, she’s always quite prepared going into scenes with each and every one of them.
During an interview earlier this week, D’Andra opened up about how she prepares to film with her co-stars.
“I kind of look at everything that’s happening week by week and I will make my own notes about what points I want to get across,” D’Andra admitted to Page Six.
‘RHOD’ Producers Think D’Andra Simmons Is Weird
“It’s really important if you’re not prepared when you’re going into doing a scene and you forget something and … you can’t go back,” D’Andra continued.
While D’Andra feels that she’s doing what she can to protect herself and get her story out there in an accurate manner, she said that her “Real Housewives of Dallas” producers think she’s a bit odd for doing so.
“It’s a catch-22. They like the fact I’m prepared. On the other hand, then do you take out the spontaneity of what’s going to happen?” she wondered.
D’Andra Simmons Doesn’t Always Get Her Way With Production
While D’Andra makes an effort to control her storyline on the show, she admitted to Page Six that when it comes to the edits that go into production on each season, it’s not always possible to get her complete story, down to the notes, on each episode.
“I always have to remember that just because I want this to happen, I want to get this point across, it may not be where it’s going to go. The scene may not go that way,” she shared.
D’Andra Simmons Can Be A Control Freak
According to D’Andra, she’s a “control outcome girl” and is working with a shaman to help her get her issues under control.
“I like to know what the end result is going to be and you can’t do that with life,” she explained to the outlet. “And I don’t like that about life, but I have to let go and let things happen.”
D’Andra has been starring in a full-time role on “The Real Housewives of Dallas” since 2017, when she joined the cast for season two.

During filming, D’Andra and her cast mates were forced to follow strict guidelines to maintain a healthy and safe environment for each other and their crew.
