Gymnast McKayla Maroney Unbuttons Shirt For Fresh Start

Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney went see-through and unbuttoned on Wednesday, joining a good chunk of America in celebrating the inauguration of President Elect Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris. The 25-year-old former athlete and 2012 gold medalist updated her Instagram late last night, with two stunning photos going a little racy with a tight sweater that was very much unbuttoned. McKayla, followed by 1.3 million, kept it slightly cryptic in the caption, but fans knew what she was likely on about. Check it out below.

McKayla's photos, coming from her home, showed her looking gorgeous and a little cheeky. The vault queen opened in a casual look as she rocked acid-wash jeans while standing by a window at night, with the star keeping her cream collared sweater a little open.

McKayla posed with her long highlighted hair worn down, fun cuboid and glittery earrings, and a mean manicure while smiling more with her eyes than her mouth. "Never too late for a fresh start," the gymnast wrote for a total 82,000+ likes overnight.

Quick to leave a like was Russian-born gymnast and 2008 all-around champion Nastia Liukin. For some, the bonus isn't Joe Biden. It's McKayla starting to post more – "2021 is already a great year cause you're posting tons again finally," a fan wrote.

If McKayla's name rings a bell, but you can't quite place her, think "unimpressed face," which McKayla managed to make a meme of back in 2012 as she pulled her now-iconic "unimpressed face." It would seem, however, that nearly a decade later, the star's family still isn't done teasing her about it.

Posting over Christmas in tight pants, McKayla told fans: "My whole family is making fun of how up tight I look in this picture, but it’s the only one I have... ?? Merry Christmas❤️ Warmest wishes from my family to yours."

Headlines aren't all fun and games for Maroney, who claims that jailed sex offender and former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar abused her.

“Sometimes you’re just left in the dust, and you have to pick up the pieces of your life. That has been the hardest part for me, but it’s always three steps forward, two steps back. And the one thing gymnastics did teach me was: when you fall, you gotta get back up," McKayla said in 2018.
