Britney Spears is venturing into the mysterious depths below the deep blue sea in her latest Instagram post as she marvels at the beauty and puzzling creatures that call the ocean home. The Princess of Pop took to social media this week to share with fans a trippy painting by famed German zoologist, artist and philosopher, Ernst Heinrich Philipp August Haeckel.
The post from Britney further gives evidence of the star trying to find peace of mind and focus on the things that make her happy in life.
“Who else finds the sea more mysterious than space ???????? ????” Britney captioned her post on social media while sharing a colorful painting of sea anemones.
She added, “I feel like space gets talked about more … but what about what lives under the sea ????”
The painting Britney shared by Britney is part of a magical collection of pieces released by Ernst Haeckel in 1904 as part of his book, Kunstformen der Natur, or Art Forms In Nature. The collection was comprised of over 100 sketches and watercolor paintings of various organisms, many of which Haeckel had first discovered.
Although they look like magical sea plants, sea anemone are actually predatory animals when it comes to marine life. They are named after the anemone, a terrestrial flowering plant, mainly because of their colorful appearance, according to Wikipedia.
Sea anemones are found in both deep ocean and shallow coastal waters, and typically cling on to rocks, shells or submerged timber in the ocean for shelter.
To feed, they release a venom that paralyzes their prey and allows the anemone to move in for the kill. However, although they are dangerous, anemone have a symbiotic relationship with clownfish … which was made popular in the famed Disney movie, “Finding Nemo.”
Britney Spears regularly speaks about her love of the ocean and the beach, as the marine setting gives her a great sense of calm. Last year she took a bike ride to the beach with boyfriend, Sam Asghari, and shared with fans about what a trip to the water does for her soul.
“Going to the beach ? is always so much fun !!!!! We are all social distancing and wearing masks of course …. even still there is a sense of togetherness at the beach that brings me peace,” Britney wrote back in August Instagram to her millions of fans.
She continued, “I feel so small next to this vast body of water ….. it takes me back to when I was 6 years old …… the moment I would decide to get up and run to the beach …… but it’s so intimidating because I know my feet are about to touch something so beautiful …. I get so excited then chicken out.”
