Being a working mom is no easy feat, and new mom Kelly Osbourne can testify as she returns to work a few months after welcoming her infant son.
The English fashion designer shares the little one, Sidney, with her boyfriend, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson. However, she has yet to unveil his face.
Returning to work could not have made her postpartum days any more miserable as she recently lamented missing her son and looking forward to the end of every day to see him again.
Kelly Osbourne Cannot Wait To Hold Her Baby Amid Her First-Time Return To Work
Kelly recently took on her first work since giving birth to baby Sidney and got candid about how she is adjusting to the new change. The "So Undercover" star opened up to her fans about her situation, indicating that leaving her son at home was one the most challenging things she had ever done.
On Instagram, the 38-year-old mother explained herself in a message attached to a picture of her and Kip Zachary in a vehicle, poking their tongues out in jest.
She was radiant and had little makeup on, while her hair was colored gray with lavender highlights. "I have a new found respect for working mothers." Kelly wrote in the caption. "I took my first job since having a baby."
She further lamented, "Having to leave him this morning was one of the hardest things I have ever done. This day can't go by quick enough for me. I can't want to have him back in my arms."
Many mothers who could relate sent encouraging words to her via the comments. A fan wrote, "I cried my first day back at work. I felt so bad for leaving him, but it gets better. Congratulations on the birth of your little boy!"
A second fan elaborated on the unhelpful system not favoring mothers who needed more paid time off. Their heart broke for Kelly as they wished her luck and hoped she recovered.
However, some critics were not so supportive as they believed she had it all. One fan exclaimed, "Work? Lol… I doubt you've ever worked a hard day's work in your life." Another agreed, claiming that it was harder to be a stay-at-home mother.
The same critic added, "And I'm sure you don't clean your own toilets and have a nanny. So please zip it. You don't have a clue of what it's like." Coming to Kylly's defense, a supporter penned, "Stop trying to invalidate her feelings of missing her child by bringing up finances. One has nothing to do with the other. She's a mother who misses her child."
Not paying mind to her critics, Kelly went on to her Instagram Story to update fans on her latest decision involving her baby and work. She wrote, "#Day 2 – I could not leave him again, so it's bring your – #BringYourBabyToWorkDay." She added a picture of herself in the backdrop, in a vehicle, looking comically at the camera, and holding her baby's carrier in the seat next to hers.
It is not quite sure when the British television personality welcomed her son, but the news was confirmed by her mother, Sharon Osbourne, who became a grandmother for the fifth time after Sidney's birth. The new grandmama shared the amazing news on the British show, "Talk TV UK," earlier in January, revealing her grandchild's gender and name.
In addition, she detailed her only daughter's experience as a first-time mother while gushing, "So great, so great. She won't let a picture go out of him, and I'm so proud of her."
Sharon failed to divulge Sidney's birth month, but fans would recall that Kelly once implied that she had gone into labor, using an unclear message, "OK, here we go," on her Insta Story.
The 'Project Runway Junior' Moderator Seemingly Shows Disapproval For Mother's News About Her Son
While Sharon was over the moon about being a grandmother, Kelly appeared not to approve of her telling the world of her son's birth. As The Blast reported, she penned a vague message implying she was not prepared to let the world in on her child's world but without pointing fingers at anyone.
"I am not ready to share him with the world." she proclaimed. "It is no one's place but mine to share any information on my baby."
Given that the message came just after her mother's announcement, it was safe to assume she was throwing shade at Sharon.
