Google Maps is an incredible website. There are so many places to visit that people even created games like GeoGuessr to play on it. There’s even lore about some mysterious places that have been found on the website, making people think they have made major discoveries through it, while most of the time, it is found out to be a bug from the map. However, it doesn’t change the fact that this website passionates a lot of people and that you can have many surprises while navigating on it.
And that’s exactly what happened for this Polish chubby cat which is now rated 5 stars on Google Maps. Now, you might wonder how an animal can be rated on Google Maps and why particularly this cat. Well, It’s because this cat became a center of attention for the population and tourists visiting Szczecin in Poland.
Gacek The Kitty King Of Google Maps
To meet this famous cat, you need to travel far into Eastern Europe, to the city of Szczecin exactly, based in Poland. While a castle is supposed to be the main attraction of the city, this black and white cat has taken over this position. His name is Gacek, which means “bat with long ears”, and he got the perfect 5 stars rating on Google Maps with more than 2600 ratings, which is incredible. He became an attraction to see when you visit this far and cold city of Poland.
Fed by the population and the tourists, this cat seems to be at ease with everyone while as cat owners know, they are not supposed to be friendly with everybody since a cat is very solitary. However, this one seems to be very liked by the population and we know that mostly because of the Google Maps ratings.
The Funniest Google Maps Ratings
Practically every person who has seen the cat or who came especially to see it rated it on Google Maps, and the comments on it are hilarious.
The first one is from Edward Gladden who said: “I am very fortunate to have come here and meet this distinguished gentle creature, he shared many great stories and even let me rub his cute little belly, I would definitely recommend any and all individuals to come to meet his excellence, and share the experience I have cherished for many years now”. Here, as we can see, Edward talks about the cat like he just met the King of England or the Lion King. And that’s totally normal since Gacek is called the Kitty King.
The second one that Tomek Wilk wrote on Google Maps, is even more hilarious since we recognize more the behavior of a real cat in it: “I flew from Oslo with transit in Gdansk to see Gacek. As expected, he didn’t pay any attention to me, making the experience fully wholesome. If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, I would fly again in an instant to feed him. Can recommend!” Here, we can see the cat did what a cat should do, take the food and not give any attention to the person who gave him the food, as a lot of them do. But that’s not only for that, Tomek is happy, It’s because Gacek acted like the King he is and didn’t disappoint his visitor at all.
However, behind this incredible and magnificent joke, there might be a sad truth since the cat is abandoned on the street. Well, that’s what anybody would think first while seeing it. But this cat is not abandoned at all, more than that, he’s the less abandoned cat on the planet since the whole world takes care of it.
Gacek Became Chubby Because Of The Fame
Imagine being a domestic animal and having unlimited food. Well, that’s the life of Gacek. This cat is far from being abandoned since the population and tourists feed him every day. And that’s the reason he became a chubby cat. That’s why the shop owners near his bed now feed him themselves. There is a sign near the cat that shows a box where people can put food for Gacek in it. Then, the owners of the shop can control when Gacek is eating or not, so the Kitty King can stay a little bit healthy.
Unfortunately, since the popularization of Gacek, Google Maps has decided to delete the cat and the 5 stars ratings on it since many people on the internet were posting fictitious ratings. And let’s be honest, It’s sad, but Gacek is still here and healthy, so if you want to meet the Kitty King, take a plane to Poland and enjoy his company.
