During Poguelandia, Stokes thanked the fans in attendance for sticking with the show. He said during the event, "This is an incredible moment for all of us. To our cast and crew, thank you so much for all of your hard work."

Series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke also revealed that fans will feel the strength of the Pgues' friendship throughout the upcoming third season. Burke stated on Season 3, "There’s all this action and adventure, but it’s really about the bond between the friends."

Pate also teased that fans watching at home will feel that there is a "sense that there's more coming" after Season 3, and now with the Season 4 announcement, it's official. Shows receiving an early renewal from Netflix before a new season debuts is rare, but not unprecedented.

Netflix has recently renewed a few series this year, including the popular "Wednesday," "The Recruit," and the sequel/reboot of "That 70s Show," "That 90s Show." Neil Gaiman's fantasy series, "The Sandman," was also renewed for another season last November. Some Netflix originals have not been so lucky this year, including "Inside Job," "1899," "The Chair," and "Uncoupled." However, after Netflix canceled "Uncoupled," Showtime was able to rescue the show and pick it up for another season.

As previously reported by The Blast, series star Cline recently revealed during an appearance on the "Ready, Set, Spill podcast" that navigating social media since finding fame with "Outer Banks" has been an "ongoing struggle" she has not yet mastered, noting the "lack of anonymity" on social media since the show rose to significant prominence.

Based on the teaser trailer for Season 3, it appears that the Pogues are bound for another intense, action-packed season, and it looks like their lives will be put at risk in pursuit of their treasure. "Outer Banks" Season 3 debuts exclusively on Netflix on Feb. 23. Season 4 will stream on the service later on.
