'Saving Private Ryan' Actor Tom Sizemore In Critical Condition After Suffering Brain Aneurysm

Tom Sizemore is currently battling for his life after suffering a brain injury. The actor experienced an aneurysm which led his manager to take him to the hospital for treatment. While Sizemore is stable, it's a "wait and see" situation for the 61-year-old.

The actor is best known for his roles in classic war films like "Saving Private Ryan," "Heat" and "The Relic." Sizemore received awards for his impressive acting skills, including a golden globe nomination for his performance in "Witness Protection."

Since then, the star has appeared in other films, including the Netflix movie, "Cobra Kai." Amid his accolades, Sizemore battled several lawsuits and opened up on his struggle with addiction over the past two decades.

Sizemore is receiving serious care after being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. His manager, Charles Lago, who was around him, revealed what happened to TMZ, saying they were hanging out at Sizemore's house at 2 am when the actor suddenly collapsed and became unconscious.

According to the news outlet, someone found Sizemore in an unresponsive state and called 911 for an emergency response. Paramedics then took the actor to a local hospital, where doctors treated and diagnosed him with a brain aneurysm.

According to E! News, a rep for the actor revealed that no one knows whether the "Intruders" star will survive. They said, "It's a wait and see situation. His family is aware and waiting for updates. There are no further updates at this time." This unfortunate incident comes after the actor faced some legal battles that have been running since 2003.

In 2003, Sizemore was infamously convicted for assaulting his girlfriend at the time, Heidi Fleiss. While he denied being a part of the assault, Sizemore was given a probation sentence. However, the actor went to jail two years later for faking a urine test. Sizemore turned a new leaf in 2013 before getting arrested again in 2019 for "various illegal narcotics."

Twenty years later, an actress sued the "Central Dark Park" star for abusing her as a child. The then 26-year-old actress alleged that Sizemore threatened her on the "Born Killers" film set. However, According to the Associated Press, the authorities later set the charge aside.

This follows a 2017 charge which reinforced the actor's reputation as an abuser. Sizemore was detained that year for assaulting his then-partner before pleading guilty to two charges. The actor, who is now in critical condition, has starred in several films like "Natural Born Killers," "Pearl Harbor," and "Black Hawk Down."

Sizemore bagged a Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Golden Globe nomination for his amazing performance in the war drama, "Saving Private Ryan." The 1998 film also received over three Academy Awards nominations. While he has moved on to "Cobra Kai," Sizemore stars in the Showtime show "Twin Peaks" as well.

Sizemore has long struggled with drug addiction and had a litany of legal issues during his career. The actor first spoke about his struggles with addiction during a 2010 interview with CNN's Larry King. During that interview, Sizemore talked about being addicted to heroin, cocaine, and meth for many years of his life.

During another conversation with Dr. Phil, the actor revealed his abuse battle went as far as when he was 15. During a 2017 interview with the Daily Mail, Sizemore shared that his addictions took him to rock bottom. At a point, the actor said he squatted "for two years" in a building that had "no electricity or running water.

He said, "My life's gotten a lot better, it's been a real chronicle, but I've got a long history of substance abuse, I was in a really bad place. I wasn't homeless but I had to fast sell my $7 million house. This is how f–ked up I was, I could have bought something else, like a condo or something, but I wanted a house again."
