Kate Winslet Had Worries About Kissing Leonardo DiCaprio In 'Revolutionary Road'

“Titanic” actress Kate Winslet revealed why she was hesitant to kissing her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio in 2009's movie “Revolutionary Road.” 

“Revolutionary Road” film was released in the U.S on December 26, 2008, starring Winslet and DiCaprio. It is a romantic drama film which was directed by Sam Mendes. “Revolutionary Road,” is the second movie collaboration for Winslet and DiCaprio after the epic 1997's film “Titanic.”

The actress disclosed how unbearable it was for her to kiss her “Titanic” co-star DiCaprio. Read ahead to get more information. 

Winslet and DiCaprio have been best friends for so many years. They became very good friends after they both starred in the 1997's romantic tragedy “Titanic.”

Many fans thought the two would become romantically involved with each other, rather they remained good friends and never dated once despite the romantic roles they both took.

However, it was very shocking to know that despite them having a lot of kissing scenes together, Winslet couldn't stand their kissing scenes in the movie “Revolutionary Road.”

During the shoot of “Revolutionary Road,” Winston was already married to her ex-husband Sam Mendes, who happened to be the director of the show. Winslet expressed her discomfort with the intimate scenes she was having with DiCaprio which was directed by her husband.

She told Elle magazine “It was more that neither Sam nor Leo seemed the slightest bit bothered. I was like, 'is it just me who feels a bit weird about this? You know. My friend. My husband.' but it was just me. There's this amazing still photo that was taken on set of Leo and me kissing, and Sam is in the background.”

“You can see this look of absolute intensity on his face, and I knew all he was thinking about at that moment was the frame of the shot.” 

In 2013, amazing the world, instead of being the groom, DiCaprio walked Winslet down the aisle in her wedding to her partner Ned RocknRoll who was formerly known as Edward Abel Smith. 

This event shocked fans as the thought that Winslet and DiCaprio would eventually get into a relationship due to their closeness.

Surprisingly, her relationship with DiCaprio has always been friendly and it has remained that way till today. Their relationship is a truly fascinating one as they continue to be best friends despite taking up roles as lovers in movies. This relationship shared by Winslet and DiCaprio remains the purest in Hollywood. 

Before Winslet's marriage to film director Sam Mendes, Winslet was married to film director Jim Threapleton. During the shoot for “Revolutionary Road,” Winslet was married to Mendes. 

 Fans claimed that their marriage started having problems during the shoot, after her separation from Mendes was announced. 

During an interview, Winslet said “I just kept saying, 'this is too weird,' Leo told me to get over it, but I said 'you're my best friend, and he's my husband. This is definitely a bit weird.'” 

In 2010, Winslet split from her husband Mendes, and many assumed it was as a result of her intimate scenes with DiCaprio. However, that claim is not certain.
