On Wednesday, the NBA was shocked as James Harden was finally traded from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets were originally on the list of teams that Harden would’ve liked to get traded to. It took some time but after he recently bashed the team when they dropped to 3-6, that appeared to completely end the relationship.
Now, he will have a championship contender in Brooklyn as he will join Kyrie Irving (whenever he decides to return to the team) and former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate, Kevin Durant.
Travis Scott Appreciates Harden’s Time In Houston
One Houston native that is still grateful for Harden and still has love for him is Travis Scott.
Scott recently took to his Instagram feed in the aftermath of the trade to post a photo of the two together. Harden is seen playfully messing with Scott as they posed together. Scott included the caption “Big steppa.”
Harden and Scott would frequently speak together court side before many Rockets games and had built a solid friendship together over Harden’s tenure with the team.
Harden Is Already Receiving Negative Reviews On His Houston Restaurant That Will Open This Month
As many can imagine, a lot of Rockets fans aren’t happy that Harden forced his way out of Houston and left the way he did. It is now at the point where he is already getting negative reviews online for his “Thirteen” restaurant that is set to open in Houston this month, according to TMZ. The name of the restaurant is based on his jersey number. Here, a lot of one-star reviews are being left as people are trolling Harden’s time with the Rockets.
Harden Gave Rockets Signs That He Wanted Out
Harden obviously wanted out of Houston for over a month ad it was on full display on social media. In December, he showed up to Lil Baby‘s birthday party in Atlanta unmasked as it was a night full of fun.
He then had to enter the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols before he could return to the court. Later that month, BlackSportsOnline released a video where Harden was seen at a friend’s party again unmasked. There, he was also smiling in a video as he showed off a Dior bag.
Harden And Rockets Had Trouble Defeating Golden State Warriors in Playoffs Over The Years
The Rockets were championship contenders in the NBA over the last five years but simply couldn’t get past Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Golden State Warriors.
Many believe that they had their chances in 2017 and 2018 but they had some bad luck such as Chris Paul getting injured ad going through some very bad stretches of a lot of missed three pointers. Even adding Russell Westbrook last season to replace Chris Paul didn’t work.
