42-year-old Jeannie Mai shared a photo of herself on social media while smiling wide with two young children.
"Human rights are something that everyone should have, and when it’s violated, it’s a crime against humanity," the co-host of "The Real" wrote to her followers.
She continued, "Human trafficking is a massive violation of human rights, as the perpetrators are holding a human in captivity and forcing them to work against their will. January is National Human Trafficking Awareness month, and I’m reflecting over my travels of meeting the brave survivors who managed to either escape or be rescued from their predators."

Jeannie Mai tasked her 2.4 million followers with a special request:
"This month I ask everybody to do and learn what they can to eradicate this issue from modern society. We are responsible for the advancement of our race as a whole, and the people who take advantage of those who can’t fight back should be put to justice."
She also spoke on the documentary, "Stopping Traffic: The Film," which is co-produced by Mai's fiance, Jeezy.
"Please watch our docu @stoppingtrafficfilm avail on iTunes to learn how we put an end to this heinous crime," the star wrote.
Mai revealed that a follow-up film is currently in the works.
January 2021 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month and also was recently decreed National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
Human and sex trafficking takes on many forms, and is described as "Modern Slavery," according to Hope for Justice.
"Modern slavery is where one person controls another by exploiting a vulnerability. It is often linked with human trafficking, where a person is forced into a service against their will – usually forced work or prostitution. The control can be physical, financial or psychological," the organization explains on their website.
