Jana Kramer nearly became a "Real Housewives" cast member in 2020.
During a January 12 interview withUs Weekly magazine, Jana revealed that she was almost brought to "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" as a friend of Teddi Mellencamp's, before Teddi shockingly revealed to her Instagram followers in September that she had been fired from the series.
"I never heard anything. I mean, once Teddi [Mellencamp] got let go, that was pretty much [it], because I was going to come on as her friend." Jana explained.
Jana Kramer Feels Bad About Teddi Mellencamp's Firing
According to Jana, she was devastated to learn that Teddi had lost her full-time position on the show last year after appearing on the series for three seasons.
"I feel so bad for Teddi because I love Teddi. I didn't know all the drama that went down but I do love her," Jana explained.
Teddi was released from her contract with Bravo after causing a stir by asking Denise Richards about her rumored affair with Brandi Glanville, who had previously spoke of the supposed hookup on camera.
Teddi Mellencamp Confirmed Her Firing On Social Media
Immediately after she learned that Bravo would not be having her back for the 11th season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Teddi took to her Instagram page, where she shared the upsetting news with her fans and followers.
"I don't want to bore you but I figured I got to give you a little update on what's going on. I recently found out that my contract as a housewife is not being renewed. I could give you the standard response of, 'Oh, we both came to the decision that it would be best...' Nah, I'm not going to do that. That's not who I am," she stated.
Teddi Mellencamp Is Focused On Her Family And Business
"Of course, when I got the news I was sad. It feels like a breakup almost because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew, and you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without, you know, the show," she continued.
Teddi then said that she is looking forward to the time she will spend elsewhere now that her schedule has more free time.
"That being said, I'm really looking forward to the future and being able to focus on my family, my friends, All In," she noted.
Jana Kramer Could Be Featured In An Upcoming Documentary
While Jana was sad for Teddi after learning of her "RHOBH" exit, she said it was likely for the best that she didn't join the show alongside her.
"I would get swallowed up alive on one of those shows. I care too much about what people think. It would be bad. I wasn't a sorority girl for a reason, so I don't think I could ever do it," she admitted.
Jana then said that she and her husband Mike have considered starring in a documentary with their two children, Jolie, 4, and Jace, 2.
"We put a sizzle together about a year ago. We'll see. No bites yet, but we have definitely talked about it," she shared.
