Jeannie Mai Is 'Shaken' Over Capitol Riot, 'Sickening Hypocrisy'

"The Real" co-host Jeannie Mai is speaking out over the recent storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters looking at overturning the election. Mai addressed her 2.4 million followers on Instagram late Friday evening and admitted that it had taken her a couple of days to make sense of what had occurred just days earlier. The riot, which resulted in the death of four rioters and one police officer, has since resulted in over 80 arrests for those involved ... and the permanent suspension of Donald Trump'sTwitter account.

"Literally been speechless trying to put sense to words.
I’m shaken to my core to see such a display of domestic terrorism and sickening hypocrisy," Jeannie Mai began her message to her social media followers.

While showing herself drinking tea and reading books from her bed, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant continued:

"To witness how far some people will go in the name of tyranny.
The domestic terrorist attacks affected all."

The intended coup d'état had disrupted a joint session of Congress assembled to count the electoral votes and formalize Joe Biden's election victory as the 46th President of the United States.

"The Real" co-host felt the need to address the situation after reading many of the responses on social media.

"It angers me to see today on social media that people are “shocked”. Are you really?? What difference is this when Trump has shown us for the past FOUR years?? That he stands for racism, bigotry, white supremacy…just to start."

She also put the blame for the mayhem, as many have, on President Trump.

"I want to be clear. Not every Trump supporter would support these terrorists, but all these terrorists were Trump supporters. This is 100% on the President and his enablers, peddling conspiracy theories and evidence that has been rejected by the courts or that doesn’t even exist."

After pressure from many celebrities and high-powered figures, Twitter effectively took away President Trump's favorite sounding board Friday morning when they issued his account a permanent ban.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," a statement from the social media company said.

Facebook also suspended Trump's account, but only until the end of his Presidential term.
