Entrepreneur Dave Hollis, the former husband of acclaimed lifestyle influencer Rachel Hollis, has died.

According to a representative, the 47-year-old passed away on Saturday night. Hollis had been at his Texas home, per The Hollywood Reporter. (via People)

Hollis rose to fame in recent years for being the husband of lifestyle influencer Rachel Hollis. The couple divorced in 2020 and built a lifestyle empire that included an established social media following, books, multiple podcasts, and more. He was also a former distribution executive for Disney.

No official cause of death has been announced as of this writing.

The outlet also reported Hollis had been struggling with heart issues, that had led to hospitalization.

Rachel Hollis Commemorated Her Former Husband's Death On Instagram

The "Girl, Wash Your Face" shared the news of her ex-husband's passing on Instagram on Valentine's Day.

"We are devastated. I have no words and my heart is too broken to find them. Please try to wrap the kids up in prayers as we try and navigate through the unthinkable," Hollis' text post reads. The 40-year-old included a single heart for her caption. The comments on her post appear to be turned off.

The couple shared four children.

Looking Back At Rachel And Dave Hollis' Lifestyle Empire

The former couple was married for 16 years, before filing for divorce in 2020.

Five years earlier, Rachel would begin her first foray into lifestyle content by writing a Facebook post about her pregnancy stretch marks, which quickly gained momentum.

The body-postivity-themed post would inspire lots of media coverage. According to Insider, Holls' post had generated nearly 5,000 likes at the time of the article's 2021 publication.

Dave Hollis would become a more significant part of his wife's lifestyle business, launched a decade ago when their brand was rebranded as Hollis Co in 2018. The company was known for selling journals, distributing Rachel's two New York Times Bestseller books, and serving as the sponsor for the couple's lifestyle conferences; The former couple's Rise Up conferences would generate more media coverage after the release of Hollis' "Girl, Wash Your Face."

Rachel and Dave would begin hosting a podcast called "Rise Together," which focused on marriage-related content. The couple would take their endeavor to the next level after they began hosting a conference of the same name, for couples seeking various types of guidance in their marriages. According to Buzzfeed News, a ticket to attend the weekend conference cost $1,795.

Dave also had projects of his own; he was the author of three books, "Built Through Courage," and "Get Out Of Your Own Way."  He released a children's book most recently, last November.

The couple would announce their divorce in 2020, a year after Hollis Co. earned record revenue costs and expanded their staff as a result. (via Insider). The announcement would also follow a period of controversy surrounding Rachel's content; she had been accused of plagiarism, including falsely attributing a Maya Angelou quote to herself.

The couple's divorce announcement, written by Rachel, read in part, "We are choosing joy-even though I'll be honest, the last month has been one of the most awful of our lives. I want to be strong and bold and optimistic for you now, but every ounce of my energy is reserved in being those things for my children."

Insider also reported Dave revealed that Rachel had been the one to instigate the divorce, via an Instagram post of his own.

Rachel would further chronicle her divorce experience in a book called "Didn't See This Coming," which was released three months later.
