'The Ellen DeGeneres Show:' Ellen DeGeneres' Mean Personality Was Glaring In These Episodes

The once-popular American TV show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” has fallen into disgrace following a vast 2020 scandal that questioned the show’s host Ellen DeGeneres’ true nature.

New information about DeGeneres has caused some viewers to re-watch old episodes of the show with more attention. They are finding out that the comedian is always mean to everyone despite her nice facade.

Before the scandal, speculations about the celebrity host being a secretly mean person circulated through the grapevine, but it all came to light when some of her employees reported that “The Ellen Show” is a toxic work environment.

Several of the employees even claimed outright abuse during their time on the show. Their boldness prompted several workers, past and present, to open up about their lousy encounter with DeGeneres. 

Judge and jury of her trial, DeGeneres, claimed not to know about the show’s misconduct. After firing some top-level execs, the media personality attempted to rebuild her reputation.

Still, it was hard to convince people to forget the overwhelming truth that DeGeneres does not live up to her longtime motto, “Be Kind.” Part of her “kindness” distrust stemmed from footage of past shows when the comedian got a little harsh with her teasing.

According toInsider, instead of showing polite appreciation to the fan, DeGeneres mocked the painting by saying, “It’s called ‘Ellen and Portia No. 10.’ He took ten tries but he finally got it. He got it on No. 10.”

She continued her mockery and pointed out that the people in the painting look more like Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa.

The episode mentioned above was not the only time DeGeneres made fun of her audience. Although it seemed like she was teasing at that time, fans are now questioning how she acts with other people.

Another time, the multimillionaire made fun of a member in her audience for not having money in an episode in 2019.

DeGeneres perused the content of a guest’s bag and asked, “So this is all you have in cash right now?,” before adding, “Alright, well that’s not rich.”

The woman in question promptly agreed that she wasn’t rich. It’s true that DeGeneres later gifted the woman $1,000, but was the money worth being embarrassed on national television? 

In another episode, the show’s host called out a member of the audience for being greedy. The person was caught on a hidden camera taking more than one souvenir.

The woman said she took the extra items for her sister, who couldn’t make it to the show, but DeGeneres wouldn’t take the excuse. Calling her greedy did not sit well with fans who recently watched this episode.

She admonished the woman and said, “A lot of people’s sisters couldn’t come.” She further added that it should be a lesson to everyone to be a good person, always with or without anyone present.
