Chris Brown is proving to be a wholesome and supportive ex!
The award-winning singer appears to be rooting for his ex Rihanna following her remarkable performance and a big reveal at the Super Bowl LVII for the Apple Music Halftime Show on Sunday, February 12.
It is no news that Brown and the Barbadian singer's relationship did not end on the best terms. Nevertheless, he is showing support not long after vaguely congratulating Rihanna on her first childbirth.
Chris Brown Encourages Rihanna After Super Bowl Performance And Pregnancy Reveal
Brown made an elusive post on his Instagram Story as the world was abuzz with news of Rihanna's highly anticipated SuperBowl performance. Without tagging anyone or indicating a name, he wrote, "GO GIRL" against a plain purple background, adding a red heart grateful hands emojis, possibly directed at the "We Found Love" songstress.
The former couple had quite the romance from 2007 to 2009 before the "Under the Influence" singer got physically abusive. Even so, they rekindled their relationship in 2012 before breaking up again the next year.
While fans believed their affair would be the happily ever after kind, the duo has since gone their separate ways, with Rihanna eventually dating A$AP Rocky in 2020, leading to their first pregnancy last year.
In a surprising twist, at the Super Bowl LVII Apple Music Halftime Show, Riri, as she is fondly called, dropped a big bomb about being pregnant with her second child.
Wearing a vivid red ensemble comprising a body-fitting bodysuit underneath a looser jumpsuit, she drew fans' attention to her second pregnancy by caressing her midsection and leaving the zipper of her ensemble open.
Moreover, a representative for the billionaire confirmed the news of her second pregnancy with A$AP Rocky to PEOPLE. The update comes less than a year after she welcomed her son with the rapper, who was seen supporting her in the stands, filming and dancing along, amid her Super Bowl show.
"Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own timetable, and having a baby is no different," a source told the magazine. The informant also revealed that the parents, "just like any other pair of parents-to-be," are on cloud nine about their child to come.
And even with their fame, the insider described the twosome as "just the cutest, giddiest young couple that's expecting kids." As for Rihanna's Super Bowl performance, it was her first public performance since 2018, and her pregnancy makes her the first pregnant woman to get featured in the annual event.
She stunned the audience with an outstanding show, beginning with "B**ch Better Have My Money," "Where Have You Been?" "Only Girl in the World," and "We Found Love." Additionally, the Grammy winner performed other hits, including "Rude Boy," "Work," "Wild Thoughts," "Pour It Up," "All of the Lights," "Run This Town," and "Umbrella," ending with a laudable of "Diamond."
As the show started, she stood on a platform hanging high above the field and walked up and down a huge stage extending to the field's length. Rihanna opted for only one outfit – the red one – throughout her performance and was surrounded by dancers donning puffy white spacesuits.
Alongside her bright ensemble, she rocked dangling diamond earrings and a pair of orange MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low sneakers. The pregnant superstar had her hair styled in a ponytail with some parts braided, and for her final piece, she changed clothes to a custom Alaïa puffer coat with complementing gloves made by Pieter Mulier.
The 'Turn Up The Music' Singer Vaguely Congratulates His Ex Following Her First Delivery
While congratulations are in order for Rihanna and her baby daddy, fans would recall that her ex, Brown, congratulated her after her son's birth in May 2022.
At the time of the delivery, The Blast reported that more than an hour later, the "With You" vocalist made an unclear congratulatory post on his Insta Story. The update showed "Congratulations" with several emojis, including grateful hands, a red heart, and a pregnant woman.
Although he did not spell out Rihanna's name on the post, given the timing, it was assumed that it was intended for his ex. Such vagueness may be because of how the estranged twosome's relationship ended or because they have consciously stayed away from each other over the years since their separation.
Fans are aware that Brown's violence toward Rihanna amid their relationship led him to fall out with the law, and since their final breakup in 2013, they have not been seen together publicly, even as friends.
