Stephen King Seeks Nominations For 'The Worst Line Of Dialogue In A Movie'
Okay, so now that I’m thinking of it:
YOUR NOMINATION FOR THE WORST LINE OF DIALOGUE IN A MOVIE!— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 11, 2023
On Saturday night, the author of "The Stand" decided to have some fun with his Twitter followers.
He tweeted, "Okay, so now that I’m thinking of it: YOUR NOMINATION FOR THE WORST LINE OF DIALOGUE IN A MOVIE!"
Fans were not shy about providing their responses.
When Rocky says the line... "Better than twenty million", the Russian translator says "20 Million Dollars".
I think Stallone edited it in a recent re-release, but it's still in my DVD box set from 2006, and we have a good chuckle at it to this day.— Ricky Zabilski (@RickyZabilski) February 12, 2023
One user called the whole speech at the end of “Rocky IV” “cringe,” quoting, “In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!”
It's a great line!

Another user pointed to a line delivered by Storm in the 2000’s “X-Men,” when she says, “Do you know what happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else.” However, another user insisted, “It’s a great line!”
I'm waiting for it to drop on the streaming services so i can hate watch it for less.

Apparently, there aren’t a lot of fans of the “Avatar” sequel. “Can I submit every single line in Avatar: The Way of Water?” one user asked. “Because that was some seriously awful dialogue. All of it.” Former ABC reporter and producer, Kathryn Magann, replied, "I'm waiting for it to drop on the streaming services so I can hate watch it for less."
You mean best?

Another fan included a GIF from the 1990 film “Trolls 2” that goes “They’re eating her. And then they’re going to eat me. Oh my goooooooooooood.” The delivery of the line prompted one follower to say that it was one of the "best" lines of dialogue, when Stephen King was clearly asking for the worst.
There Were Plenty Of 'Star Wars' Quotes On That List Too!

One of the worst movie lines in recent history comes from 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker," which wraps up the nine-episode Skywalker Saga. "Scenes From A Marriage" star Oscar Isaac delivers the line "Somehow, Palpatine returned" to make it instant meme-worthy material.

Although it's been said that the "I hate sand" GIF has been "memed into oblivion," the line "I don't like sand, it's coarse, rough, irritating, and gets everywhere” from the prequel trilogy's "Attack of the Clones" continues to stand out as one of the most memorable lines of dialogue ever uttered in a Star Wars movie.
“but I was gonna go to Toshi station and pick up some power converters!”

Actually spelled 'Tosche Station," the line, "But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters," famously uttered by teenage moisture farmer Luke Skywalker, is still a fan favorite from 1977's "A New Hope."
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mark Hamill explained why he approached the line of dialogue with that whiny inflection. "I thought we might only be able to make the first film because the second and third parts were predicated on how well the first one did," he explained. "So I said, I'm going to have to make this as juvenile as I can so there's room for growth. And I sort of wanted to make it sound like I had four sisters and two bothers when you'd be in the car and they'd say things like, ‘You said we could go to the mallllllllll.' So I wanted to give that flavor."
"It was cringe-inducing even at the time," he continued. "But I explained to George [Lucas] what I just said to you, and he said, ‘Yeah, okay, do it.' Little did I know that it would haunt me for decades. In fact, Empire magazine said that the top Luke Skywalker moment of all five movies is that line. That's when I knew that they didn't know what they were talking about. I was so insulted."
