Butch Marion, the 82-year-old Walmart employee who went viral on TikTok in 2022, is back in the dating pool.

The Navy veteran was working at Walmart and was unable to retire at his old age due to the rising costs of living.

The Maryland employee worked 30 hours a week at the store, and explained to McCarty that he served 10 years in the Navy and had been working since he was 11-years-old.
Butch initially retired to help care for his ex-wife’s husband before his passing.

Rory McCarty Stated A GoFundMe For Butch's Retirement
Rory McCarty posted videos of Butch on TikTok and started a GoFundMe to help raise money so that he could finally retire.
As previously mentioned, the video went viral and McCarty was able to raise over 100-thousand-dollars for Butch.
Prior to this life changing encounter, Butch had been dumped by his girlfriend of 13-years right before Thanksgiving. He explained that she left him for her high school sweetheart.
Well, McCarty has been taking great care of Butch and even set him up on a date with “Nana.”
McCarty captioned the video, “Hot date with Butch and Nana #retire #date #datenight #dinner #GetCrackin.”

Nana is McCarty’s mother-in-law, and they make an adorable couple!
McCarty’s followers left plenty of comments about the cute date night.

More Than $50k Was Raised After Initial Donation!
In addition to the $108k check Butch received from the initial GoFundMe donation, McCarty revealed that he received another $51,120.82.

In the date night video, McCarty joked, “The man just got a 167-thousand-dollars and he’s concerned about how much something costs. I told him to get the crab cakes, he said that it was too much. You don’t make these old guys like that anymore, I tell ya. He doesn’t want to spend the money for a crab cake.”
Butch and Nana even posed for a picture together before the evening was over.

Since going viral, Butch and McCarty made several appearances on major news networks.
They were interviewed by CNN, FOX News, NBC and other local news stations.
Butch said that he would use some of his retirement money to go visit his kids, do some work around the house and “enjoy my last 10 or so years I got.”
He told FOX 5 Washington DC, "I feel like a new man."
