Singer Britney Spears seems to be struggling with medical concerns that are more serious than the public is aware of.

Although the 41-year-old pop star has previously stated "I sleep for days" and has indicated that she has serious nerve damage that leaves her incredible pain, fans don't really know the extent of what the "Hold Me Closer" singer is going through.

It seems that it is something that the pop star and her family are determined to keep out of the public eye, although a source did come forward on Friday to comment on Britney's "complex" medical struggles.

Many sources have been commenting on the “Overprotected” singer’s health over the past few days. Many of these comments are at odds with what Britney has said herself as she works to assure the public that she is “fine.”

One source told Page Six that although Britney does not belong in a conservatorship, she does need medical attention. “Nobody outside the very small conservatorship circle knows what Britney’s medical status really is,” one insider claimed. “If people knew Britney’s actual medical status, I think it would reveal that her mental problems are far more severe than people realize.”

“Regardless of her mental condition, it isn’t necessarily appropriate for her to be under a conservatorship,” they added. “There are less harsh ways to handle it.”

Britney Spears was placed under a conservatorship in February 2008 following her public meltdown the previous year. Her father, Jamie Spears, was put in charge of her finances and personal affairs until September 2021. Britney’s conservatorship came to an end two months later in November 2021.

Although Britney has been vocal on Instagram about the alleged mistreatment she received at the hands of her father, one source claimed that Jamie was only trying his best to help her. “Whatever you think of Jamie, deep down he does care about his daughter and I don’t think he wants the information [about her medical status] to come out. No matter what Britney has said about Jamie, he still loves her,” one insider claimed.

The source went on to say, “I have never believed that Jamie is the villain in this situation. I think he has been unfairly vilified by people who know nothing about the situation and have nothing to do with it. I hate to say it, but he could be vindicated.”

The source also noted that it was “weird” that Judge Brenda Penny of the Los Angeles County Superior Court didn’t put Britney through an evaluation when she struck down her conservatorship over a year ago.

At the time, Judge Penny claimed that there was “no need for a capacity declaration” of the singer because the conservatorship had been voluntary.

Britney Tries To Assure Fans That She Is 'Alive And Well'

“I didn’t die, people. I didn’t die. I’m here. I’m alive," Britney says in the video. "Yeah, I’m very much alive and well."

I don’t have ‘medical doctors’ !!! I take Prozac for depression and that’s about it ??‍♀️ !!! I’m an extremely boring person !!!”

Britney continued, “It frustrates me to know that any news outlet would say any of this !!!
