Giada De Laurentiis Signs Amazon Deal, Goodbye Food Network

It has been 21 years since Giada De Laurentiis debuted on the Food Networkand now, she is moving on to Amazon Studios.

The network and Giada released a joint statement exclusively to People magazine "Giada De Laurentiis is culinary royalty, someone who has taught audiences how to properly pronounce every cut of pasta imaginable for nearly two decades,” they reminisced.

They continued, “Food Network will always be proud of the beautiful content we have created together, and our table will always have an open seat for Giada.”

The mom of one brought an amazing energy to the network and really took her fans on a journey with her in life. She got married, had a baby, got a divorce, created a brand, created her own culinary, and let’s not forget all the time she guest-judged on shows and her own list of never-ending shows.

Don’t worry, Giada isn’t gone forever. Her time on the network is over but they will continue to play reruns of almost all of her shows like Giada at Home and Giada on the Beach, Food Network Star, and Giada Entertains.

The celebrity chef shared the news, kind of on her IG account on Thursday. “Big week! Super excited for what’s to come! @amazonstudios,” she posted.

It didn’t give her followers much information, but she linked to a Deadline article that was said to have more information. Her fellow Food Network stars were excited for Giada. Alex Guarnaschelli, Dan Langan, Samah Dada, and others congratulated her on her next career move and wished her well.

The streaming giant released a statement about their partnership with Giada and we can’t tell who is more excited. Lauren Anderson head of AVOD Original content and programming, Amazon Studios said.

“With her charismatic passion for food and commitment to making extraordinary culinary experiences accessible to the home chef, Giada De Laurentiis has remained at the forefront of her industry for nearly two decades.”

She shared that the company is truly happy to be putting roots down with the mastermind. “We look forward to developing an exciting slate of projects with Giada, as she expands into new areas, and we broaden our portfolio of cooking and lifestyle content.”

The chef has mastered her culinary skills she has won Emmys for her shows on the popular network, and she owns two Restaurants Giada and Pronto by Giada.

She had 10 cookbooks all on the New York Times Bestsellers list and she owns a catering business where she has her own brands of pasta, olive oil, sauces, Italian culinary tour options, you name it.

She has also begun to dip her foot in the movie world like her famous director grandfather Dino De Laurentiis, she was an executive producer on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Always Amore. De Laurentiis is excited for the shakeup. “I’m looking forward to this next chapter. I’ve been a fan of Amazon for a long time, and I’m excited for what we will accomplish together.”
