Christina Hall has opened up about her most powerful — and painful — renovation yet.
Even though the TV personality has exhibited certain traits that point to her being kind, her fans did not understand how deep her kind-heartedness ran until she recently shared a touching story with them. As it turned out, Hall had stepped in to help her best friend Cassie Schienle's sister-in-law with home renovations after she was diagnosed with ALS last year.

Also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal condition that involves the nervous system, weakening muscles and affecting physical function. This was the experience of Schienle's sister-in-law, Jessica Waldron, when she became less mobile and wheelchair dependent.
With this development, the Stanford-trained clinical psychologist lost access to the kitchen and the primary bathroom in her family home. Schienle eventually reached out to Hall, asking the real estate pro to create a space to make day-to-day movements within her in-law's home more wheelchair accessible.
Unfortunately, Jessica passed away before the remodel was completed. The episode featuring the late mother of two kids aired on Thursday's episode of "Christina in the Country," awakening a heart-wrenching feeling in Hall.
Taking to Instagram, the reality TV star shared a picture of Jessica smiling as she listened to Hall's husband, Josh, talk. While the image reflected a happy time, the caption beneath told another story. Hall wrote:
"I first met Jessica Waldron in March 2020 at James and Cassie's engagement party. She was the kind of woman that when she walked into a room, you noticed. She had that aura about her. I really got to know her better at James and Cassie's wedding the following March."
Shortly after the wedding, Jessica developed "Drop Foot" — difficulty lifting the front part of her foot, which eventually became ALS. "Jessica wanted her home remodeled because she needed it to be functional for her due to her limited mobility, but she also wanted it to be beautiful and something her whole family could enjoy," Hall explained.
Despite the difficulties associated with the ailment, Jessica remained hopeful "that there would be a cure and she would walk again." "Unfortunately, on Nov. 3rd, 2022 at age 39, Jessica passed away due to complications of ALS and never got to see her home remodel," the mother-of-three added before stating:
"This remodel was her vision for her family and something the entire crew and I are proud to have done for them."
Hall was sure that her friend's "memory will live on, and her kids will be able to look back and see that mom was a fighter." The touching statement struck a chord in the hearts of the "Flip or Flop" star's fans, with one of them applauding her for doing "such a beautiful job" and honoring Jessica "every step of the way."
Another praised Hall for doing an "amazing job in such a difficult situation" with a "hope that this episode raises awareness and keeps her memory alive." While many others stepped into the comments to share their experiences with ALS, those directly affected by Jessica's passing dropped their thoughts too.
Schienle wrote that even though "no one will ever know how much you've done for others," Hall had to "know how much it means to those" in her life. Jessica's husband, Damon, expressed his love and appreciation for the "Christina on the Coast" star and her crew, and her husband said a prayer for Jessica's family.
Another time Hall evoked such emotions was last month when "Christina in the Country" premiered on HGTV. The Blast noted that she posted a picture featuring herself, her husband, his sister, and her husband on Instagram. The post has gotten nearly 50k likes and over 1k comments.
The San Diego University Alum Wants Normal Life For Her Kids
Soon after her show premiered, The Blast noted Hall's discomfort with her eldest daughter, Taylor, following in her design footsteps, especially at a young age. Addressing the issue during an interview, she disclosed:
"Taylor is just a natural. She's actually really good at design and she's really good on camera. It kind of freaks me out, but I don't want her to do any of that for a while."
The doting mom has already begun taking measures to ensure her kids enjoy their childhood, limiting their time on her reality show. To that end, she let them film once a month, for a maximum of an hour, ensuring that they do not become main characters.
"I want them to go to college and then later, much later, if that's something they want to do and pursue, more power to them. But most importantly, I just want them to have normal childhoods," Hall reiterated.
