The 20-year-old's return to the show is highly anticipated, as we are eager to see her bring her unique flavor to the series once again. Showrunner Sera Gamble revealed plans to bring Ortega back, as Ellie was one of the few to survive Joe Goldberg's [Penn Badgley] friendship.

Despite being referenced in Season 3, Ortega's scheduling conflicts with her role in "Wednesday" caused a delay. Speaking to Indie Wire, she said, "We wanted to bring Ellie back, and we heard, 'Oh, Jenna is doing some show.'"

She also noted that the star's presence was a delight and would love to have her back on set if her schedule could allow it. As in the show, Joe, who has taken on another identity with the name Jonathan Moore has bonded with student Nadia, which evokes memories of his close relationship with Ellie.

Meanwhile, she has been busy with her upcoming slasher film "Scream VI," three additional films, and a second season of "Wednesday." Ortega expressed her excitement about reprising her role in 2019 and would love to see Ellie "come back and take control of her life." She stated:

"Ellie has so much potential and talent that she shouldn't waste because of him."

The popular Netflix series has always been a complex show to understand, as it presents two contrasting sides. On the one hand, the show portrays Joe [Penn Badgley], the book-loving lead character, as a supersensitive individual who can easily disguise himself.

On the other, he stalks and murders women and men who get in the way of his obsessions. In previous seasons, the show tried to reconcile this contradiction by pairing Joe with a character named Love, who was just as over the top as he was.

However, Love had to go by the end of Season 3, as even she had become too much of a killer for him. In Season 4, Joe, presumed dead in the US after leaving behind part of his foot in his old house, has relocated to London to re-stalk Marienne, the librarian who caught his attention in the suburbs.

The show presents a jolly and happy atmosphere until the group starts getting picked off one by one by a mysterious killer who isn't Joe. This attracts precisely the kind of attention that Joe is trying to avoid, as he claims to have reformed and no longer kills women.

The true appeal of "You" lies in its satirical side, which is far better than its stalker-murderer elements. The show presents a grubby pleasure that keeps viewers hooked while also providing a shot of adrenaline. With its satirical features, it proves to be a unique and entertaining show that continues to captivate audiences.
