Lil Baby has arguably been the hottest rapper of 2020. The numbers speak for themselves as his sophomore album, "My Turn," dominated the year ever since its release back in February. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and now, it's closed 2020 the right way. According to Chart Data, "My Turn" is now the No. 1 best-selling album of the year in regards to total units sold. Currently, it stands at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart.

My Turn Is 2x Platinum In The US

"My Turn" received positive reviews by hip-hop fans from the first night that it was released. It was already led by platinum singles such as "Sum 2 Prove" and "Woah." When the project was put out, additional hits were created such as "Heatin Up" feat. Gunna and "Emotionally Scarred." When the deluxe album was released in May, fans were also feeling the "We Paid" single featuring 42 Dugg. This record is 2x platinum in the US as well as "My Turn."

Baby Is Preparing For Third Album

This fall, Baby also revealed that his third album is on the way. He added that he is done doing more collaborations so he can focus on finishing this project. During this time a year ago, he announced his "My Turn" album along with the "Lamborghini Boys" mixtape, that still hasn't been released. Baby planned to put that out once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. That has pretty much been done in his hometown of Atlanta but there is still no release date for this mixtape.

Baby's 'The Bigger Picture' Single Is Nominated For Two GRAMMYs

In June, Baby went on to release his "The Bigger Picture" single. This was in the midst of nationwide protests in the United States regarding the murder of unarmed Black man, George Floyd, in Minneapolis. Officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for a shocking eight minutes and 46 seconds. Baby's single seemed to unite many music fans amidst the trying times. Now, it is nominated for two GRAMMYs at next month's prestigious award show in Los Angeles.

Baby Threw Birthday Party For George Floyd's Daughter This Month

Baby also made a very huge gesture and that was holding a birthday party for George Floyd's daughter, Gianna. The party was held in Baby's hometown of Atlanta earlier this month as she turned seven. According to TMZ, Baby covered the costs of the party as Erica and William Platt from Restaurant Ten and Rosie's Cage helped put this together as well. It was a pink theme as Gianna and her friends were also able to get their hair done as well as manicures and pedicures.
