Lil’ Wayne is denying any allegations that he discriminated against his former private chefin any way. As far as he is concerned, it’s a matter of “free speech.”
Did Lil Wayne ‘Quiet. Fire’ His Chef?
The rapper employed Morghan Medlock as his private chef but after working for him for over a year, Wayne’s assistant supposedly sent her a text saying “goodbye” and a message from the rapper saying, “tell Chef Morghan this isn’t going to work.”
What sparked the random firing? According to the chef, she had to leave Wayne’s side to tend to a sick child. Her son, 10, reportedly sustained a head injury over the 2022 Memorial Day weekend, she had just traveled to Las Vegas with the “Lollipop” rapper and his team for the weekend.
Medlock filed a lawsuit against the rapper, saying in the court docs that she was “well aware of her job tasks and schedule” and made the best effort to return to LA. Unfortunately, the trip was delayed, she says because Wayne was smoking on the plane.
Lil Wayne Sued By Former Chef For $500,000
The chef dropped a half-a-million dollar lawsuit on Wayne where she claims, the rapper’s assistant was continually asking her if “she was quitting,” while she was comforting her son. She always responded “no”.
Unfortunately, she was continually asked and always gave the same response. When Medlock tried to return to work she suddenly had no job.
Medlock said in the legal docs to have “continued to check in regularly with Wayne’s assistant regarding her job tasks and returning to work, including asking the assistant if it wanted her to send Carter a dinner menu – as she always did every day while working. She was told “No.”
That’s when she was told “goodbye” and received that special message from Wayne “tell Chef Morghan this isn’t going to work.”
Lil Wayne Claims He Has The Right To Make An Honest Firing Decision
Lil' Wayne just responded to the lawsuit, saying, “any and all conduct of which Plaintiff complains that is attributed to Defendant and/or which Defendant undertook, was a just and proper exercise of discretion and business judgment, undertaken for a fair and honest reason and regulated by good faith under the circumstances then existing."
In other words, Wayne can fire any employee who he deems not a good fit for the team.
Furthermore, the “Forever” rapper is claiming that he is exercising his "free speech" right. In other words, anything said about the situation is also the rapper's right under the law.
Plus, the rapper may be too busy to deal with all this drama over some food, essentially. Dare we say a celebratory mood?
Lil Wayne Sells His Home For $28 Million
It turns out, Lil' Wayne might not need the services of a private chef -- because the rapper just sold his huge Florida property.
The YMCMB co-founder finally found a buyer for his South Florida home! He sold the half-acre property for a whopping $28 million. The house has been on the market since September and initially posted at $29.5 million. Once he dropped it to $28 mil, it sold almost right away.
