Gymnast Nastia Liukin has turned off comments on her Instagram posts for the second time in two weeks.

The five-time Olympic medalist has been posting more and more videos that feature her getting dressed in classy outfits as she shows off her sense of signature style.

However, some of her followers have compared them to "body checks" and have even gone as far as to suggest that she might be struggling with an eating disorder, which is a pretty serious accusation to make.

Gymnast Nastia Liukin Disables Comments Amid Eating Disorder Allegations

On Sunday night, the Russian-American former artistic gymnast shared a ten-second video clip on Instagram that featured her getting dressed in a cropped sweater and patchwork skirt. Nastia captioned the video, “A wholesome Sunday little fit, all @zara.”

Although some fans expressed their support for her sense of style, most fans were critical of the 5'3" athlete. Although the 2008 Olympic all-around champion has always been athletic and thin, some of her followers believe that she is too thin and suggested that she might even be struggling with an eating disorder.

One fan even fully expected Nastia to delete comments on her post. “I know you’ll just delete this or turn off commenting, but as someone who’s struggled for years with an eating disorder myself - you look like you need help," one follower commented. "Not suggesting that you have any particular diagnosis, but these posts raise such red flags for me.”

“You look stunning and I’ve loved you ever since I was an elite gymnast. But you look really really thin. As long as you are happy and okay who cares but you look really really thin in a not so healthy way,” another follower commented. “I’m sorry but I’m gonna say it……. You clearly appear to have an eating disorder of some sorts and I won’t stand by and let others think it’s ok. I hope you get the help you need,” another user wrote.

Fans Tell Nastia 'You Look Like You Need Help'

It's worth noting that this is not the first time that Nastia has disabled comments on her Instagram page after fans expressed their concern. She has posted two more fashion videos in the past two weeks. Each time, she turned off comments after fans started expressing concern about her size.

One user told her that she is “not promoting a healthy body image for gymnasts or people in general. You’re getting skinnier and skinnier,” Another follower agreed, writing, “I thought so too. Always been thin, her natural state. But getting skinnier is alarming.”

However, some fans took issue with the thought that she was "promoting" anything. “Unless you know full well what her health status is you are in no place to tell her what body image she’s ‘promoting’," one fan shot back. "People are in charge of their own health, she’s posting a video of her getting ready…not everything is a promotion.”

Although some fans were probably sincere in their concern, there were a few comments that seemed inappropriate. “Somebody throw that girl a cheeseburger and fries with a milkshake please!” one user wrote. “She doesn’t even look appealing! She is skin and bone,” another follower commented. “Can I buy you a meal, please?” another user asked.

“These comments have me absolutely irate right now. 20lbs heavier and y’all are calling her fat… now she’s too thin. She can’t win, can she? How about you worry about your own bodies and stop criticizing hers, considering you haven’t lived a day in her shoes… or even know her personally, for that matter! Call it what it is. You’re not ‘expressing concerns…’ you’re passing judgments," another fan shot back.

"Let her family and close friends express their concerns if they feel there is a reason to be concerned and keep your judgments to yourself,” they continued. “Nastia, I hope the good comments stand out more than these rude ones because you look fabulous in this outfit! Just like all the other looks you post! Love it!”

At this point, it remains to be seen if the former athlete plans to share any more photos or videos with her fans, given the critical comments she's received about her body.

At the time of this writing, Nastia has yet to address the allegations that she is struggling with an eating disorder directly.
