"1000 Lbs Sisters" reality star Tammy Slaton is finally within the required weight to undergo her Bariatric surgery. Earlier this year, Tammy reached 717 lbs, the biggest she has ever been. At the time, she had just left a food addiction rehab center; however, her weight was not what she and her family had expected.
The reality star, who struggled with heavy drinking, vaping, and depression, eventually returned to the rehab center, a move she says was "difficult" for her. Tammy's return to the facility was prompted by a health scare she faced at the start of January. She was unable to breathe, and after being rushed to the hospital, a tube was inserted in her throat to give some assistance.

Tammy Slaton Achieved Goal Weight For Surgery
People magazine recently revealed that Tammy had reached and surpassed her goal weight to be approved for surgery. In the clip of the show's Tuesday episode the magazine provided, the reality star was with her two sisters, Misty and Amanda, when she found out that she had lost more than 180 lbs.
Tammy weighed around 717 lbs when she was registered in the weight loss rehab facility located in Ohio, a number which she admitted was the biggest she has ever been. In the recent clip, she revealed that she resolved to drop down to 550 lbs for her to be approved for surgery.
"I need to get to 550 lbs. for me to be approved for surgery," the reality star said. "Until then, I hate getting on a scale. My worst fear is gaining weight. I don't want to disappoint my family or myself."
Tammy Slaton Was 'Thrilled' By The News
When Tammy stood on the scale, the doctor informed her that she had dropped to 534 lbs, 16 lbs lower than the required weight for the surgery. Amanda said to her, "B— are you serious? For real? Tammy, you see that!"
Tammy's other sister, Misty, revealed that she was "so stoked" and proud of the reality star for reaching the goal weight for the surgery. "When I got on the scale, and I saw the scale was at 534.7, I kinda stopped breathing for a second. I'm like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that's a huge drop," Tammy said.
The reality star continued, "I did that! I'm feeling thrilled, proud, excited — just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!"
She Wants To Get Her Surgery 'Over With'
Still reeling from the good news, Amanda informed Tammy that, hopefully, the reality star would be on her way to getting her surgery by their next meeting. In response, Tammy revealed that although she was excited about the milestone and finally being able to get the surgery, she wanted to get over it with it.
In a confessional on the episode, Amanda said, "This is what we've been waiting for. This is what we've been working for. Tammy's made the goal weight; it might mean she's finally gonna have surgery. She's finally gonna get this, and the future looks good."
Amanda also revealed that they could have gone to other doctors to get the approval; however, Tammy needed to reach the weight loss goal given by Dr. Eric Smith first.
"I know there's several other doctors that she has to get approved from, but the way I look at it is before we can ever go see those people, she had to reach that weight loss goal that Dr. Smith had given her and Tammy's done that," Amanda added. "She's gonna do the damn thing."

Earlier this year, People released a teaser of "1000-Lb Sisters," where Tammy was rushed to the hospital. The reality star had reportedly "quit breathing," and her body, according to Amy, had shut down on her. In the footage, Tammy is given a tracheotomy which involves a hole being created in her throat to insert a breathing tube.
This made it easy for them to give the reality star emergency breathing support whenever required. Still feeling good despite the health scare, Tammy said, "I'm still here, b**ches."
When the reality star asked her doctor if she could go on with her Bariatric surgery, he refused and told her that she still had a long way to go in weight loss before being approved.
"I told you, Tammy, you have real risks," Dr. Eric Smith, her surgeon, said. Chris, Tammy's brother, responded, "If she doesn't get the surgery, she's gonna die because of her weight."
