Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are just as infatuated with their hit 2003 romcom "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" as they were two decades ago!
No love ferns were killed during the Instagram Live chat session where the two stars discussed making the movie and answered fan questions about the film, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary this week!
Excitement was fueled for the film's two-decade milestone on social media last week, thanks to the publication of an oral history dedicated to the film, published by Vanity Fair in which the duo participated in along with several members of the cast and crew!
The film has also made a social media splash in recent months on TikTok due to the popularity of Carly Simon's career-defining hit, "You're So Van" as a trending audio sound.

In case you're in need of a refresher, "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" tells the story of single gal Andie Anderson who is a journalist.
During a staff meeting, Andi is persuaded to write a fluffy piece about new relationships and dating, instead of exploring the news-oriented territory she desires. She decides to take her piece to the next level after pitching an experiment that explores whether could it be possible to drive a potential beau away in less than a week, rather than taking the relationship to the next level! Little does she know that the man who she later meets at the bar, has a similar premise in mind for a campaign at his advertising job!
McConaughey and Hudson were thrilled to see each other on Instagram Live, and shared their love for the film that brought them together. McConaughey, who plays 'the guy' in question named Ben Berry, revealed that it feels like two decades have passed since the duo made the film.
"It feels like a lot of life has happened," Hudson answered in response. She also said she "can't believe the life" that the movie has experienced since its release!
She also credits the aforementioned TikTok success for bringing the film into the spotlight for some renewed appreciation! McConaughey said he had not seen any of the TikToks, but he seems visibly happy to see the film is "still sticking" as his co-star explained the viral "You're So Vain" trend.
The duo also shared some examples of fan encounters wherein the fans want to dish about "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" rather than any current project! Hudson recalled a story wherein she was recently shopping at a Sephora, and was approached by a group of young girls who were excited to talk all things related to the movie!
McConaughey then mentioned having seen an interest in the film from a younger generation and explained how the film seems "very current" to the viewers. He also joked about receiving many residual checks around Valentine's Day for many years while the movie experienced success on DVD and through cable.
The "Dazed And Confused" alum credited the unique sense of mischief that viewers seem to enjoy during the point in the film where Ben isn't yet aware of Andie's agenda. He describes this as "a sort of interactive experience with people who watch it who are in on the joke with [Hudson] or in on the joke with me, in your expense or my expense."

The duo received "thousands" of questions during their Instagram Live session, and Hudson revealed two questions to which fans are endlessly curious to find out the answer! She also revealed she is asked one of the questions no matter what career venture she is promoting. The burning question? What it's like to lock lips with McConaughey!
The duo has had a lot of practice! In addition to starring together in "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days," they also starred in the 2008 film "Fool's Gold" together.
"My thing is that we're always in weird environments," Hudson said of their smooching moments. With the exception of the scene where the duo kiss in a bathroom in the former movie, McConaughey added "Everything else hasn't been climate controlled!"
With a smile, Hudson later says, "With respect to our current partners... we do kiss nicely!" "I would have to agree with you," McConaughey replies, with a slight stutter!
Hudson's love for her co-star is always in the back of her mind when she thinks about working with McConaughey again, although it isn't clear whether any of those future projects will be a sequel.
In Vanity Fair's oral history, Hudson said, "People always ask us [about a sequel] but there's nothing in the works. I love working with Matthew, so I'm sure at some point we'll work together again."
