On Monday, Paulina took to Instagram to share a photo of her from her photo shoot with Vogue Scandinavia. In the caption, the former fashion model got candid about her thoughts on what it was like to embrace aging.
“Aging gracefully? In our culture, for women, this means preserving your youth. Or at least, look like it. Or - remove yourself from the world to sit and ponder the past while you serve those in need. Well, so, yeah. F--- that,” she wrote in the caption.
“Aging is the privilege of living a long life. You can fight it or accept it. But there is a third choice. Embrace it. Embracing it means both acceptance and battle,” she continued. “Accepting there are inevitable changes on the inside and the outside. And both are valuable. As your inner power grows, your wrinkles reflect the time you’ve spent getting more powerful.”
“Fighting is better spent not on the denial of age, but rather putting it to work. Fight to keep your body healthy. Fight to stay curious and flexible,” she went on. “Fight the shame that’s heaped on you to tell you you no longer matter. Fight to be seen and valued for the person you have become.”
“Here’s to embracing age- for both the good and the bad, because that’s living!” she concluded as fans embraced her positive caption. “Thank you! I needed this today and every day!” one fan commented. Another follower added, “I couldn’t love this more! Photo AND words. I just recorded a video on a very similar subject and this is so heartening to read afterwards. Here’s to the good fight!”
“Just turned 60 yesterday! I’ve been more productive and creative in my 50s than ever before, and finally really feel that I’m steering my own course. Seen or unseen, I’m here and living life!” another follower shared as fans showered her post with red heart emojis.

In another Instagram post, the “Anna” actress posed on the cover of Vogue Scandinavia in a sheer white dress. Paulina told the magazine, “I feel like I’m representing 50-something-year-old women who look their age. And I deeply feel that we need more representation.”
As the magazine wrote in the caption:
“Swedish-Czech supermodel Paulina Porizkova bares it all as the cover star of our Feb-Mar issue, proving that beauty truly has no age limit. Tackling the complex experience of growing older in the fashion industry, overcoming gut-wrenching grief, and navigating mid-life dating, Paulina finds that – as she ages – she is only more intelligent, more patient, more introspective. This is Paulina at the height of her powers.”
Fans were in full support of Paulina’s quote. “I would love to see more models over 50 and change the idea of beauty only being reserved for younger women,” one fan commented. “Oh my goodness!! This is a stunning shot. So, so powerful. Cheering you on and so grateful for the trail you are blazing! Wow,” another follower wrote.
“Great cover! Bravo to Vogue & to Paulina! With the aging population being on the rise, consumers are demanding more images of an aging population. There is beauty at every phase of life and we want to see it. We are tired of seeing underfed teenagers on covers of magazines,” another fan chimed in.
