Demi Lovato lifted hearts and raised pulses over Christmas, stripping down to a high-cut back glitter swimsuit to celebrate her recovery from bulimia. The 27-year-old superstar singer, who has battled eating disorders for years, braved the bathing suit and even highlighted stretch marks, with photos showing the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer finding her health and her voice. Demi, who used to feel that recovery wasn't possible, is now proving that it is. Her 95 million Instagram followers are floored by the bravery. Check it out below.

They come after years of battling headlines for Lovato, most notably her 2018 drug overdose that nearly killed her, plus various rehab stints for substances and her eating disorder, something that also got covered in-depth with a 2020 appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Demi's photos, all close-ups, showed her figure unedited and in sunlight. The former Disney star, showing off gorgeous curves and with water droplets all over her, was rocking a tight black glitter one-piece,, with a focus on her thighs, rear, and killer hips.

Demi then took to her caption, and it was powerful stuff.

"I used to genuinely believe recovery from an eating disorder wasn’t real. That everyone was faking or secretly relapsing behind closed doors. “Surely she throws up here and there”, “she can’t POSSIBLY accept her cellulite”...," Demi began, confirming these were just "a few" of the things she'd tell herself while growing up.

Lovato continued:

"My dietitian looked at me and said “This is what eating disorder recovery looks like.”

Demi, who was showing side-by-side photos of herself back in 2017 to document recovery from anorexia nervosa and began bingeing and purging aged just nine, added:

"In honor of my gratitude for the place I’m in today, this was a lil shoot I did by myself in quarantine this summer when I wanted to celebrate my stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them."

The post, which also saw Lovato call this year a "tough" one as she encouraged her followers to be "gentle" with themselves, currently sits at over 3 million likes, including one from supermodel Emily Ratajkowski.

"You help me so much and inspire me everyday. You are everything and more and I am so proud of you - I love you so much sis ?,"one fan wrote.
