Morgan Evans Speaks On His Healing Process Amid Split From Kelsea Ballerini And Her Chase Stokes Romance

Morgan Evans recently reflected on his divorce from Kelsea Ballerini and how he's been healing and moving on. The country music star said he can only control his own feelings and actions and is thankful for the good people around him. 

Ballerini also recently spoke about how the decision to break up with Evans was not a sudden one, and she's now on her "active healing journey."

It's been about six months since Evans and Ballerini ended their marriage, and the country music star is finally opening up about his healing journey. Evans recently had an interview with host Bobby Bones on The Bobby Bones Show, where he said he had been focused on his emotions and feelings.

Evans said he's realized that the only thing he can fully control is "how you feel and what you're doing." The "Kiss Somebody" singer continued, "Thankfully I have good people around to keep reminding me of that and keep me grounded in that way and I'll always be grateful for that."

Ballerini also spoke on her healing process during a CBS Mornings interview in October last year. She said, "A big life decision like that, it's not a sudden one. And there's a lot that happens before that becomes public. So, I'm on my, like, active healing journey. And a big part of that is showing up for this album and showing up for myself like I never have."

During the interview with Bobby Bones, Evans also spoke about his breakup track, "Over for You" which really helped in his healing, by being a medium to express his emotions and the emotions of millions of his fans. He spoke about how the song's "level of vulnerability and personal writing" was a big appeal to many people who related to it.

The singer said he's since received a crazy "amount of messages and comments" on his social media accounts, which has been "so great." Evans said, "Having gone through a situation like that, seeing that it helps other people going through situations like that, yeah, it's really a big deal."

He said his candor about his emotions since the breakup has "helped him heal" from the split from Ballerini. The 37-year-old also recalled the first time he performed "Over for You" and said, "it felt good to do that and just be honest and not try to cover things up."

Evans and Ballerini announced they were ending their marriage with an Instagram post on August 29th, after over five years of marriage. E! News obtained the divorce court documents Ballerini had filed, in which the artist cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce filing.

In her Instagram post, the "Peter Pan" artist announced to fans that they'd decided to go their separate ways. She wrote, "This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce. This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end."

Ballerini further wrote that she's grateful for the years she and Evans had together and "hopeful for the next seasons." However, Evans didn't seem so happy about their split in his own Instagram post. The Australian native wrote, "I am very sad to confirm that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not."

While Evans is still on his healing journey from their divorce, Ballerini seems to have already moved on with "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes. Romance rumors between her and Stokes began after he shared several photos on Instagram, including one of them standing suspiciously close during a National College Football Championship game.

Stokes captioned the Instagram post, "lil recap," and Ballerini commented, "go vols," referring to another team she supports, which didn't make it into the Championship. The actor previously confirmed to TMZ that he and Ballerini were involved; however, he didn't say whether they were in a proper relationship.

He said, "She's a sweet girl. We're having a good time and that's all I'll say." The couple was recently spotted together at Robert's Western World in Nashville and again at LAX airport. At the airport, Ballerini and Stokes were photographed hugging and kissing on the escalator and terminals.
