Did Britney Spears Just Welcome A New Addition To Her Family?

Fans of singer Britney Spears were left scratching their heads after seeing the 41-year-old pop star's latest Instagram post.

On Thursday night, she shared a photo of a kitten sitting in a dark bedroom. The "Hold Me Closer" singer didn't credit anyone with the photo, prompting fans to wonder if she was taking a photo of her own pet kitten.

In her first Instagram post on Thursday night, Britney shared a photo of a girl in a white dress sitting next to a child dressed as a mouse. “Hi ?? !!! Nice to meet you ? !!! I gotta now ✌? !!!” Britney wrote in the caption. She credited the photo to The Theatre, A Monthly Review, Volume IX, January to June, 1887, Carson & Comerford, London, 1887.

Even at the end of her lengthy rants, the “Toxic” singer always makes sure to give credit to where she gets her pictures from. Although she has often shared cute photos of kittens on her Instagram page before, she did not put any credit on her follow-up post, leading many fans to believe it was her own photo.

In the caption of another Instagram post, Britney wrote, “Polly wants a cracker !!! She’s either extremely pissed off or she’s just tired ? !!!” The photo shows a young kitten sitting between two fluffy pillows. The kitten’s eyes are half-closed as it squints into the bright light of the photo.

It's worth noting that fans have known that Britney has a cat for a while. In December 2021, over a year ago, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer shared a video of her nursing something in her arms while feeding it with a bottle. She's turned away from the camera so her fans can't see what it is.

Although fans had a lot of different guesses as to what pet it might be, eagle-eyed fans noticed a cat tree in the background of one of her dancing videos around the same time, leading many to believe that she did have a cat.

The "Break The Ice" singer actually confirmed the news that she had a pet cat on February 15, 2022, which is just under a year ago. In the caption, she wrote, “I also have a new cat and will introduce her later but i watched a documentary on cats last night !!!! Such intelligent animals ... dogs think people are God ... cats don't because they know better !!!! Thought that was a cool line ?  !!!”

“My cat is French and very peculiar ... she looks at food as if she is 30 for two min before she eats it ... she's extremely smart and she looks like a miniature cheetah ? !!!!” she added. “Me and security couldn't find her for 2 hours and then when we did she would disappear again !!!!”

However, it looks like this kitten is too young to be the cat that Britney is talking about in her February 2022 Instagram post, which means she might have added a new addition to the family. Until Britney confirms it herself, fans will just have to speculate!

In the same Instagram post, Britney also told her followers that she adopted a pet dog named Sawyer. “Geez .... can you have two loves of your lives because he comes in second !!!!” she wrote. “I'm introducing the new edition to my family ... his name is Sawyer and he's a white Australian shepherd with blue eyes !!!!!”

“I found him in Maui like a dream and took him home with me immediately,” she continued. “It's funny ... he doesn't talk back but it's like he understands what I'm saying !!!! I can talk to him for 30 min about potty training and rewarding him when he goes potty on the pad !!!! I think he understands me especially with those eyes ? ... he makes my heart melt ... he needs me and I like that !!!!!”

She wrapped up her post by writing, “Anyways I have a house FULL of small animals and I like it besides the potty training ?? !!!!”
