Amidst a year filled with countless celebrity splits, Miles Teller is proving just why his marriage to Keleigh Sperry survived the aptly-coined “magnifying glass” that living together in COVID-19 quarantine brought about in many couples worldwide.
While speaking to Men’s Health for a new wide-ranging interview, Teller opened up about how him and Sperry keep their relationship fresh and interesting, as well as sharing details of the duo’s day-to-day life together while in quarantine for most of the duration of 2020.
‘She Keeps Me Calm’
Teller spilled the details about why his and Sperry were able to make it work so well while home together for months on end, saying simply that “We just hang out. She keeps me calm. It’s pretty great.”
Back in October, him and Sperry flew to Australia together for Teller to film the forthcoming “Spiderhead” movie for two months. Quarantining and making a film together down under means the pair is around each other 24/7, which Teller details as, “I’m with her now from when I wake up to the moment I go to bed.”
Their Support Network
To further cement the positive energy constantly afforded to him and Sperry in their relationship, Teller added, “We have a lot of friends whose relationships got put under a magnifying glass during these times, but we are really great. Once you get married and you make that ultimate commitment, life is just a lot less stressful. You just know that person is always going to be there.”
Although their love is strong, the actor attests their powerful bond to even more than romantics.
How They Pass The Time
Teller explained that another foundational element of them getting along so well despite the adverse circumstances 2020 has brought about is cooking buffalo wings.
“I used to carry along this deep fryer when we first met from place to place. Now I grill them. It seems like I’m always on a diet,” he commented on the funny-yet integral part of their union. The “Divergent” actor said that cooking the wings for him and Sperry has been a frequent quarantine past time.
Other Activities
Beyond cooking, Teller said that the couple has plenty of other past times they enjoy engaging in together that have been strengthened by quarantine.
According to the actor, “Keleigh and I both worked on our backyard and did some landscaping. We planted a lemon tree, hydrangeas and a rose garden,” he explained. “Since we were staring at our backyard a whole lot more than usual, we wanted to add color.”
The star said that playing Call of Duty together has also been a fun way of killing the time when they aren’t gardening or cooking.
