Iggy Azalea is fighting for her OnlyFans career!
Although it has been nearly a month since the rapper joined the online subscription service, fans have reminded her of her previous statement about joining the platform. As it turned out, the mother-of-one had claimed that she would never be one of the celebrities that earn money through fans' subscriptions to their private content, especially the sexual kind. The "Work" hitmaker may have made the declaration to promote the two songs — "Brazil" and "Sip It" featuring fellow rapper Tyga — she released previously.
Iggy Azalea Shuts Down Troll Who Reminded Her Of Her Previous Resolve Not To Join OnlyFans
Azalea had disappointed her global fans in 2021 when she took to Twitter to tell her followers, "I think onlyfans can be really empowering for people, But I WILL NEVER, EVVVER join. I don't want to make that type of content & it only f**ks up the bag for ppl on there who really bout that life. Shoutout to the baddies tho!!!!"
Nearly two years later, one fan called her attention to the statement under a raunchy picture posted by the two-time American Music Awards winner. The image showed Azalea wearing a barely-there purple bikini top over a pair of red and black bikini bottoms.
The fit drew attention to her sleeve tattoo, taut, flat abs, underboobs, and hips, with her hair styled into a wet, wavy look, framing her slightly made-up face.
The "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" hitmaker wrote, "The last laugh belongs to me. 😌," in the Instagram caption, igniting a conversation in the comments. One person asked if they could laugh with her, while another praised her for her "amazing body."
Meanwhile, a critic stepped into the comment section to write, "I don't get it.... last laugh is yours? How....they got you doing only fans." The statement got an immediate reaction from Azalea, who replied:
"Take a visit to Forbes and read over the 8 figure deal I did back in Nov. then ask yourself again who made me do anything? LolliiiiIll y'all are so dramatic & WEIRD…."
The 8-figure deal in question saw the "Sally Walker" rapper trading the master and publishing share of some of her most notable hits, including "Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)," "Problem (with Ariana Grande)," and "Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)."
Per The Blast, the jaw-dropping deal was negotiated by her attorney Peter Paterno and manager, Reece Pearson, and was signed by Domain Capital. The sale included 100% of Azalea's share of her existing catalog and a failsafe for the rapper, ensuring she could still make money on any future master recordings.
While it was a big success for her, the "Go Hard or Go Home" rapper's fans were worried about her getting shortchanged in the deal. One concerned fan tweeted at the time, "I just hope she doesn't end up like Taylor (no shade at all, just using it as an example)," to which the "Friends" artist replied:
"Taylor did not profit from that sale. I sold a portion of my catalog to who I wanted for an amount that means I don't have to work another day in my life."
She further mentioned her love for her fans before claiming that this part of the business was beyond their comprehension.
The ARIA Award Winner Makes Over $250k In OnlyFans Debut
The Blast reported that the three-time Teen Choice Awards winner raked in over a quarter of a million dollars after her first 24 hours on OnlyFans. The OF account had allegedly made $307k, proving that she had the sauce for her viewers.
The account was opened in line with Azalea's "Hotter Than Hell" year-round multimedia project, featuring uncensored and exclusive music, photos, videos, illustrations, and poetry.
The "Hotter Than Hell X OnlyFans" collab would be her first creative project in nearly two years, encompassing the Australian star's upcoming fourth studio album due for release later this year.
"Admittedly, I never knew OnlyFans was a place where I could be creative, so I didn't expect to be collaborating with them on my biggest project to date! Once I looked beyond the surface level chatter about what it means to have an OnlyFans, I realized it was the perfect platform to launch a multimedia concept on," Azalea said about the OF project.
The musical heavyweight has since denied claims that she made $307k, on her OF debut.
