"This is why Adidas is better," one stan wrote under the Instagram announcement post, while another stated, "where do I buy this? Take my money!" A third person commented, "Always been a die hard Adidas fan but this just made become an even bigger fan," and a fourth said it was an "instant cop."

Ortega shared the good news on her Instagram Story, highlighting that she was "So excited to be joining the @adidas family!!" The Golden Globe Awards nominee also released a statement that WWD reported, and it read:

“My love for Adidas is one that goes back years. It’s always had such a presence in sport, music and culture and continues to be an innovator in so many ways. Growing up for me it always had to be Adidas sneakers and Ts as the go-to.”

'Wednesday' Star Faces Criticism For Filming While Sick With COVID-19

The Blast observed that Ortega came under fire after she disclosed that she was not in tip-top shape while filming the beloved "Wednesday" dance scene. The scene went viral on social media platforms thanks to the actress's unchanging facial expression as she choreographed the dance with some unusual but electrifying steps.

Detailing the events leading up to that moment during an interview, "The Little Rascals Save the Day" star revealed that she woke up feeling ill. Ortega said, "It's crazy because it was my first day with COVID, so it was awful to film. Yeah, I woke up and — it's weird, I never get sick, and when I do, it's not very bad — I had the body aches."

The "Elena and the Secret of Avalor" actress further shared that she was given drugs to help her situation and was allowed to film the scene since she had not yet received a positive COVID-19 result.

Both Ortega and Netflix faced immediate backlash, with one person claiming that the move was "a dangerous, unethical, and extremely selfish thing to do, both on her part and the part of the directors and producers."

The beloved scene was part of the series' fourth episode and saw the actress dancing to The Champs' 1981 punk song, "Goo Goo Muck," from their "Psychedelic Jungle" album.
