James Bond actress Eva Green referred to herself as “Cruella” while working on the set of 'A Patriot' because the filmmaking process was just too hard.
Eva Green Part If A Lawsuit
The actress is best known for her role as a Bond girl in the James Bond franchise. Was working on the set of another film but it fell apart due to funding stemming from a fallout between the financial backers.
The actress is being dragged into the legal battle and isn’t happy about it at all mostly because her private text messages are going to be read in court in front of everyone. Apparently Green saying “humiliating” things like calling crew members “s****t peasants” is relevant. Even if it hurts people's feelings.
The Penny Dreadful alum was not happy with how the film was panning out. She lamented in text via WhatsApp and somehow, that became everyone’s business.
Eva Green Ripped The Cast & Crew
Eva seemed unhappy with many things about the production. She referred to one of the producers as “the devil,” she called the director of the film, “weak and stupid.” Eva slammed the entire production including the script as a “B-sh**ty-movie”.
The actress also realized that she was not the nicest and referred to herself as “Cruella” while on the set of the film. In court on Tuesday, Eva was questioned about a text where she called filming a “f***ing nightmare” and apparently confided in of her associates, “we had to get out.”
She was accused of sabotaging production which she obviously denied. According to Page Six, she said on the witness stand, “I have a very direct way of saying things,” referring to her WhatsApp messages.
“I was not expecting to have my WhatsApp messages exposed in court. It’s already very humiliating,” said Eva. Who was also accused of attempting to abandon the production?
Eva Green Wanted To Make The Film On Her Own
The actress hated the production but that doesn’t mean she hated the film. She shared on the stand and in her WhatsApp messages that she was willing to try and make the film herself. She wanted to buy the rights and make the film with her own people.
Eva denied the allegations of trying to “get out” of her commitment. “Sometimes you say things you don’t mean. You hate someone, you say, ‘I’m going to kill this person.’ Are you going to kill this person? No. It’s a cry from the heart,” she insists.
She turned to her once co-worker Daniel Craig quoting that time, he said he would rather harm himself than play James Bond again. “There’s a famous example of Daniel Craig saying he would rather slash my wrists than do another Bond movie. He did honor his contract, he did another Bond movie, he didn’t slash his wrists. Sometimes you say things under extreme pressure, and it just comes out.”
Filming Was ‘Chaotic’ According To Eva Green
To sum it up, the actress said on the stand that the film was a mess to get through, referring to production as “chaotic”. She went on to say, she did nothing to “make the film fail.” In fact, she blames production for the failure.
“I feel they made it fail on their own, by their own incompetence. Nothing was ready. Nothing was in place. It was a charade,” she says. The actress is currently suing White Lantern and SMC Specialty Finance LLC to recoup the “pay or play” clause in her contract.
