Brady has three children, which is yet another thing he has in common with the award-winning actress.
Fonda has been married three times and has three grown children.
The 85-year-old touched on her friendships with Lily Tomlin and Sally Field, whom she stars with in “80 for Brady.” Rita Moreno is also a star of the film.
The movie is inspired by a true story and tells the tale of four best friends who take a wild trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their hero, Brady, play with the New England Patriots. The film hits theaters on Friday, February 3rd.
Jane Fonda Opens Up About Friendships With Sally Fields & Lily Tomlin
When asked how the friendships on film compare to her real-life friendships, Fonda said, “Sally [Fields] and Lily [Tomlin] are my real-life friends.”
Fonda admitted her relationship with Fields takes a bit of effort given the “Forrest Gump” star’s “reclusive” behavior.
“She [Sally] tends to be a bit reclusive. She’s not one to really want to go out a lot. So, especially when I lived in Atlanta, I would have to really coax her out to come to dinner with me or get together or whatever,” Fonda admitted. “But see, I understand her. I know that’s how she is. I don’t take it personally. I go after her.”
Fonda famously starred alongside Tomlin in the 1980 flick “9 to 5” and Netflix’s “Grace & Frankie.” The series wrapped last year after seven years on the streaming platform.
“Lily is a completely different person than me and I’m absolutely fascinated by her,” she noted. “We’ll be sitting side-by-side and someone will come up to and say something serious and Lily will find a way to respond with something that’s a laugh. I can’t do that, I’m just in awe of it.”
Fonda admitted that having a strong group of girlfriends is extremely important for her health.
“Women look into each other’s eyes and ask for help. They show their vulnerability,” she told Cooper before adding “This is why I believe women live five to seven years longer than men.”
And speaking of men… Fonda is a massive of the “GOAT,” Brady.
She recalled meeting him for the first time in her movie trailer. It didn’t go as she had expected.
Meeting Tom Brady Had A Physical Effect On Jane Fonda!
“My knees started to give way. I’m not kidding. He came into my trailer, holy s**t, and my knees started to buckle. I was standing next to the sink so I held on, but and that’s when he signed this jersey I’m wearing,” Fonda recalled. “It’s two-fold. He’s a GOAT, he’s the greatest of all time. When somebody is that good at what they do, it’s like magic. You have to bow down. But on top of it he’s so gorgeous. I was just overwhelmed and he was so sweet, very generous, very nice.”
As for the potential of coupling up with Brady, it’s not off the table for Fonda, but he will NOT be moving into her home.
She told cooper she replaced the “his” of the “his and hers” bathrooms when she moved into her home seven years ago.
