Kelly Ripa Celebrates Early Xmas With Delicious McRib Sandwich

Kelly Ripa broke protocol on her normally super-strict diet to enjoy a special treat that only appears about as often as Jolly Old Saint Nick -- the McRib! Yes, McDonald's has once again brought back their famed pressed pork BBQ sandwich to the delight of many in what has been a somewhat of a silver lining to the otherwise misery presented in 2020. Although Kelly Ripa may not seem like the target demo for the McRib, the TV star was just as excited as others who've been able to score one of the tasty sandwiches.

The excitement around McDonald's iconic McRib sandwich all has to do with the availability, as the item only rolls around once a year for a limited time. Coming in at a tasty 520 calories, the savory item is described by McDonald's as "perfection."

"Start with seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and dill pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun. When everything combines you have BBQ pork sandwich perfection," the McDonald's site reads.

Some customers have noted that the McRib is not offered at all McDonald's locations, but luckily Kelly Ripa did not have to look far because she was gifted the sandwich from a friend for an early Christmas gift.

For those fans freaking out over Kelly deviating from her mostly meatless and healthy diet, the star added, "it’s once every ten years, calm down!"

Kelly Ripa doubled down about her love for the McRib after a fan challenged the authenticity of her Instagram post in the comments section.

"YOU’RE DEFINITELY BEING PAID FOR THIS AD AND PRETENDING," the outraged fan accused the "LIVE with Kelly and Ripa" co-host.

Not backing down from the accusation, Kelly personally responded about her McLove: "This is NOT an ad, this is a Christmas gift."

Another fan begged Kelly not to indulge in the holiday splurge, writing, "Don’t do it, that is not meat. Your arteries will thank you later."
